Woodward agreed to $75 million for Jimbo and Jimbo pays zero buyout if he leaves? This is circulating on the A&M boards.

If true, is this the worst contract ever negotiated by an AD?

Depends on your perspective. Was he anticipating the LSU job being his in a few years? If so, was he considering the possibility of wanting to hire Jimbo less than 10 years down the road?

Was this similar to Arnsparger recommending Mike Archer over Steve spurrier then hiring him three years later at Florida?

Who is going to outbid for him? When you pay that kind of money a buyout doesn't seem necessary for preventing another school from poaching the coach AND if you fire him before the contract is up there's also no buyout the school has to pay which was probably more the reason it was done that way.

He's paid the full amount of the contract whether he coaches 10 years or 5 years. That's worse than having to pay a buyout.

no Fisher wanted 10 years to leave FSU, allegedly he would have gotten 10 years from LSU in 2015 for 60-65M

I can’t believe people actually believe shite like this
Archer was his DC, that’s why he recommended him. No one knew what Spurrier would become that’s why he was hired by Duke
