The Marine in question is quite possibly in the Marine Forces Reserve. That would be my best guess because there are no FULL TIME - Marine Corp Duty Stations anywhere close to Baton Rouge. The DET HQSVC CO 3RD BN 23RD MAR REGT, 4TH MARINE DIVISION is located in Baton Rouge. One the largest Marine Forces Reserve units’ in the USA (if I am not mistaken) is located in the New Orleans area (They have full time reservists there). The Reservists can definitely hold a job at a bar as a bouncer or whatever else they want to do.

or, like he said.

Amen - suspend pending further investigation and move on with what you have available. If nothing comes of the investigation then everyone returns and Team moves on. However, this will never happen so we will all have to wait while the entire nation laughs and shakes their head.

In a case like this where both sides maintain innocence issuing a suspension is admitting that party is guilty. That's why Miles brought up the timeline. He has a decision to make, and must make the right one at the right time.

No really. What is your rephrased question?

Eta:

If the fracture is caused by a sudden, forceful injury, you will probably feel severe pain in your back, legs, and arms.

You might feel weakness or numbness if the fracture injures the nerves of the spine.

I don't know what else you're trying to ask.

So he has no role in determining if there should be charges brought against people?

Let me put this in English for everyone.

The Marine Corps Reserve unit in Baton Rouge is Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment. A Marine Corps Reserve unit of this size usually has an Inspector/Instructor (I&I) staff of 12-15 active duty Marines who administer the reserve center full-time, and facilitate training for the reservists who come in one weekend a month.

Marine Forces Reserve operates about 185 reserve centers in 49 states, with about 6,000 active duty Marines supporting about 40,000 drilling reservists. Marine Forces Reserve is indeed headquartered in New Orleans, and commanded by a three-star general.

Duty with an I&I Staff usually lasts about two years for the active duty Marines, at which point they get orders back to the active duty, operating forces.

The Marine Corps does not assign an active duty Marine to an I&I staff unless they have a stirling service record, as detached service requires a high-degree of confidence.

If an active duty Marine assigned to an I&I staff gets into a bar fight, they will very shortly find themselves charged, most likely stripped of rank, and sent back to the operating forces. If a reservist gets into a bar fight and makes false statements to the police, he will not be a Marine reservist for very long.

Comments to the effect of, "Marines are always fighting in bars," "Marines are racist high school drop-outs," and, "The individuals claiming to be Marines posting on Jordan Jefferson's Facebook page represent the he average Marine," are juvenile and misinformed.

Right. But it's true, misdemeanors do not go to him. Ergo he will not deal with it unless a felony is charged.

We only have one story. Andrew Lowery. We haven't even heard from the other 3. And the stories we have could all be false. They are reports from the media. LSU fans should know damn well reports in the media can be wrong/made up.

This

What actually happened is several LSU players were in the wrong place at the wrong time and an incident occurred that was probably avoidable, but things happen. A person has a right to defend one's self if threatened, let's just hope that there are enough unbiased credible witnesses to give the BRPD an accurate account of what actually took place. I'm sure that Les Miles has talked to all the players involved and if he had enough information to determine that the players did commit a crime and it wasn't self defense, the players would be suspended or dismissed from the team. Didn't Les Miles dismiss Ryan Perilloux from the team? For goodness sakes, let the Coach, the LSU Athletic Department and the BRPD do their job! We might never know what really happened that night. Until the BRPD concludes the investigation, anything said by someone that wasn't there and saw the whole incident is complete speculation on their part. Everyone just needs to give this a rest until due process provides the answers about who was in the wrong. And dgnx6, you are right about the Media. People would be surprised to know how often the Media reports things that are just rumors with no hard facts to back it up. Just remember what my Grandpa always told me, "Believe 0% of what you hear, 50% of what you read and 100% of what you see."

I hope that the LSU players did nothing wrong and they are vindicated. If they were in the wrong, they will have to accept their punishment like men and hopefully learn from their mistake. Until then, I wish the LSU Football Team the best, I hope they can get over the distractions and win the game against Oregon. Geaux Tigers!!!

Said JJ was a bystander and peacemaker more than anything. Did not recognize any of the involved until he saw news reports. Bob Delgiorno cut him off and would not let him proceed until he talked to police.

So did they ask him if JJ kicked someone in the head?
