I looked at 3 different sites and they had 3 different rankings, but NCAA.com appeared the most readily used/reliable and had us at 7. The point still stands tho

these aren't subjective rankings. Total Defense is ranked according to total yards per game given up, so it's a set in stone ranking.

NCAA.com has LSU at #3.

Sports-Reference click on the yards column under total offense to get total D. once again, 3rd.

ESPN.com #3

they're not wrong, he is.

there isn't a single defensive category on NCAA website that has LSU #7 in 2007

It’s so obvious by how MAD he is at LSU’s 2007 defense ranking being off 4 spots .

YEAH that’s what has him all up in arms on this glorious Christmas morning LMAOOOO

You said you used NCAA.com but had the wrong rankings. Instead of justifying your mistake by pointing to other sites, just admit you made a mistake. It happens to all of us. Even me and even that fat bastard that called you out on it.

The difference is that Fat bastard and I will admit our mistake. Though we may attack you from another angle

It’s really hard to believe the 07 D was still ranked that highly after Kentucky and Arkansas.

Once again God bless Dave Wannstedt

I guess I made a mistake. I’m filled with remorse and hope y’all can forgive. Fat Bastard does not enjoy being called a dumbass and honestly I wouldn’t either.

So is the point that we are better off with a QB that actually throws the ball? or is this somehow to point out that it’s not as important if you have a championship defense to lean on?

How about doing both!

that’s points per game.
which would be scoring defense.

click on the yards column to sort by yardage to get Total Defense.

and amazingly, LSU is #3.
just like literally any other site you look at defensive yards per game totals for 2007

He carried the offense.

When Daniels himself was his number one option, of course he carried the offense. But he didn’t have to had he use all of his options. He had good, effective, but not great running backs. He had excellent receivers. As good a group as there was in the country. He just did not use them effectively.

When he learns to make those around him better, then he will be a championship caliber quarterback. If he puts it all on his shoulders again, he won’t be.

Sacked a lot because he wouldn’t throw downfield maybe?

That’s where I sit. I remember watching early in the season and thinking if Brennan or even Nuss had been named starting QB they woulda been sacked 7-8x per game.

Daniels got sacked a lot himself, but without him you don’t have 1,000 yards of rushing. You just have -300 yards in sacks. That’s huge. There would have been a ton more 3 and outs and the trickle down effects of that are hard to measure.

Imo Kelly absolutely made the right call at QB this year.
