Bro he took like 5 steps and turned up field. How was it incomplete? Was he bobbling it the whole time? I’m very confused how it was called incomplete on the field
Posted on 10/10/26 at 6:59 pm to ConcreteThreshold
Looked like he took three or four steps with it in control…

He never caught it

Yep. At least deserved review.
There’s a very clear skew in officiating.

I think he caught it too, but the angle they showed doesn’t really show whether or not it was being bobbled before he went down.

If you go to the ground as part of the act of catching the ball, then you must survive hitting the ground with the ball in possession for it to be a catch. He was falling as he ran forward, so they considered he never had full possession before falling. That’s why it’s incomplete.

Like others have commented, he took like 5 steps then went to the ground and the ball came out

He was falling forward as he ran as part of the catch while being hit. It’s goofy but that’s the rule and has been for as long as I can remember. There was a reason Lane didn’t ask for a review.
