Alright guys, contest time. The LA Tailgate & BBQ Festival, one of our newest sponsors, wants to hear your craziest tailgate memory (if you can remember anything at all). The five best posts will earn free Stadium Club tickets for the day of your choosing at the LA Tailgate & BBQ Festival this weekend in New Orleans. This means VIP treatment at the festival including free access to the holy trinity: BBQ, booze, and blues.

Can't make it to the festival? Post your story anyway. If you win you can give the pass to a friend or fold it into a neat hat for your chihuahua instead...it's up to you.

So post away. It's about time you got some recognition for those long, grueling autumn Saturdays.

The contest closes Thursday at midnight and winners will be notified Friday morning.

For more info on the LA Tailgate & BBQ Festival, which will be held in New Orleans this weekend, check out this thread on the Food and Drink Board:

There are probably a lot of crazy stories that I don't remember...but should. One good one off hand would be when Mike the Tiger walked through before the North Texas game last year and we talked him into hitting the slip-n-slide. He probably immediately regretted it after being soaked and gaining 30lbs.

Didn't BilJ dress up as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle at a tailgate and jump kick some dude in the crotch on video?

1997 LSU vs Florida when they were number 1 in the country, was tailgaiting all day off Nicholson righ in front the railroad tracks where the new Alex Box is. train came by that afternoon and I went chasing one of the kids that were around, got hit by the tanker car ladder that bounced me off the ground so hard, i never knew i fell (till the next day). Made it to the game and played music at one of the frats that night for a gig.... of course, hindsight it is funny....

Because the App St game was so early (10AM) I decided to start tailgating at 3:30 am. A couple of friends and I did 2 power hours and ran around yelling in everyones appartments to get up cause it was game day. Ran to the stadium but I left my ticket at our tailgate so I ran back to get my ticket, got into the game then took a nice nap till gametime! Best tailgate ever.

I didn't get to tailgate very much before the games but after one of the games we stopped by some wonderful tailgaters in the RV lot and they gave us a few beers to drink for our walk to our vehicles. Of course my friends and I were cordial enough to hang out with them and drink a few before we went on our merry way.

Well it became a small tradition to stop by every weekend and grab a couple from the nice tailgaters and hang out for a bit. Not a crazy experience but definitely a great memory.

During a rain-soaked afternoon on or near the parade grounds, drunkards started slip & sliding on folding tables that were laid out end to end. The first slider goes & everyone laughs. The next slider goes & well......the second table tilts up where the two tables meet & CRACK goes his forehead.

At the end of 1999, our tailgating group, the Krewe of Deux, won the Tiger Rag sponsored "Last Great Tailgating Championsip of the Millineum. It was a Halloween event and we were determined to win the thing since it was the one and only time we competed in any tailgating competition. We had a variety of foods, drinks, and decorations which included grave headstones of some memerable Tiger wins of the past. Tommy Hodson, Dalton Hillard, Warren Capone, and Verge Augsberry were the judges and they rode around in golf carts taking in the various tailgating sites. Late in the afternoon, we saw the parade of golf carts coming back and were told that we won beating out the "legendary" Krewe of Ragoo for the title. We were on the big screen in the stadium and later had an article writtenabout us in the Tiger Rag written by Chris Warner. It was a pretty exciting deal and a day we won't forget for sure!

Sorry for making this so long but it's a story.
It was Tulane a couple years back. My brother in law (Steve) is a lawyer who graduated from Tulane. He wanted to have a big party and roast a pig for the game. Our father in law and I decided that we would do it.
The tulane grad, got a huge camper and parked it in the parking lot for campers on thursday night. Turns out they were parked next to Chuck Wiley's mom and dad. Our pig pit is on a flat bed trailer and they needed room for the trailer, so they asked Wiley to please move their camper a little bit. Steve ended up having to pay them some cash to move their camper.
Anyway, when they were pulling the trailer into the parking lot, the cop said that it would be ok to have the trailer in the lot because of the pit. We started rolling (cooking) the pig at 4:00 Saturday morning (we got there at 3:00).
At 9:00, the same cop that let us in shows up and says we might need to move the trailer because they are not allowed in the camper parking lot, but he would try to talk to some people to let us keep it. 11:00 rolls around, and the pit is cooling so we need to add more coals. At that time he comes back and says all is well and the trailer can stay. 30 MINUTES LATER, a "sergeant", supposedly, shows up and says a tow truck is on the way, and we have ten minutes to move it or it will be towed. After trying to contest the fact that another cop let us in there with it, he would not budge.
Nine minutes later, said tow truck arrives. My father in law and I, start cutting off the pig whatever we could, and then just took the whole pig off the pit just before they towed it away. As they roll off with the pit, a trail of smoke and ash is rolling out of it down the road.
We were able to get enough meat off of it to eat, but still. An hour and a half later, we see Steve riding by with the trailer, smoke still coming out of it, bringing it to a friends house in BR.
We actually tailgate on the Chancellors steps every gameday, and have fed the last three Chancellors. We also did a massive tailgate and pig roast in a gated parking lot on Poydras St., with lawyer Steve and friends, for the National Championship in 2008. That is a long story too so I will not talk about that one. Again sorry for being so long with this.

I was tailgating at the parade grounds during a game against Arkansas, the group next to us had roasted a pig, when it was time to go to the game, one guy in the group proceded to start wrestling the carcass, he finally defeated the pig using the peoples elbow and abruptly passed out beside the hog, he was in the same position after the game.

I believe so. I wasn't very familiar with the lot because we got there at 3:00 am, but it was very large and had a BBQ rib truck, Two Beer trucks (Miller and Bud light), very large tent with at least 5 big sceen tvs, and both LSU and Ohio fans.
