DW40 Hit

Wilson Hit

White Still at impact

Give me one reason why we should let up on this? In fact, there is a case here for actually pressing to get Wilson suspended for his hit after the fact , as it is far more obvious and egregious . I know WE all know this already, but the more visible and transparent we make the double standard outside of our fan board ,the more likely the grass roots will spread. Don’t let up on this Tiger Fans!!!!

Auburn targeting overturned

Wilson hit him in the chest not the neck or head area. It was a vicious hit but clean.

No it was a defenseless player and it was helmet to helmet.

Problem is Wilson's targeting was overturned and White's was upheld.

Either ur being sarcastic or You may have to check your eyesight - the dude led with crown right to neck area in an incredibly vicious way. White was nowhere close to this.

He led with the crown of his helmet jackass. Which is the definition of targeting. White led with his hands and hit him in the chest. GTFO

only if his chest is where everyone else’s neck is.

The call against White had all signs of a premeditated call. Referees behavior and the review was weird.

Honestly I don't have a problem with either hit. Yes Wilson leads with head, but it appears to me that he hits him in the chest which forces Guarantano's head to go down.

White doesn't lead with his head.

White's suspension is a travesty.

edit: yeah Wilson was targeting

Was the Wilson hit called on the field and reviewed further then confirmed not targeting? Could have just been a missed call on the field.

Then how the refs were arguing with Fitz to leave the field was strange also. Fitz wanted no part of leaving the field.

He broke his collarbone with his helmet through shoulder pads. Is the collarbone not “head or neck area” which is part of targeting?

Leading with the crown of the helmet does not require contact to the head or neck. This is the rule:

Lowering the head before attacking by initiating forcible contact with the crown of the helmet.

By definition, targeting is leading with the crown of your helmet. Nothing to do with where you hit the player.

well that's interesting...then Wilson most definitely should have been called.

Even if Wilson was called for targeting, the play occurred in the 2nd quarter. He would still be able to play the entire LSU game. That play is irrelevant to White's hit.

Having said that, there should be an appeals process for the suspension part of this penalty. All suspensions should have an appeals process. Especially for in game incidents where there is not enough time to do a thorough review.
