hunt is just drumming up the drama bc thats his job. he does it every year. shores&neal had 0 chance of signing too

I’d like to think I’m developing a reputation of NOT “just drumming up drama”. I try to tell it like I see it. As far as Shores and Neal, I absolutely put Shores in the “no chance” category. Was wrong. With Neal I did not. I called him a huge swing guy. I’m not arrogant enough to suggest I can nail 20 draft outcomes a week out. My job is to give an educated and sourced opinion. I always say that these predictions are sure not to be 100% correct.

As far as tonight’s tweet goes, I’m a little surprised at the blowback. All I said was that I was going to let it play out. We all remember Zach Lee. Just two years ago Gervase tweeted he was coming back and got picked/signed.

We all know this is a leverage game. I didn’t want to jump the gun. When McDaniel tweeted he was formally out, I jumped in with the internet party. Didn’t seem too “hot takey” to me.

A player cannot remove their name from the MLB draft.

You can. There's paperwork you can fill out and be ineligible.

The MLB has been doing this to college rosters forever.

As a high school senior he was basically a better version of Luke Holman was as a junior at LSU.

Sat 92-95 T99 with the best curveball in the draft. Good but seldom used change up. He’s a true Friday night ace. Best one we’ve had coming to school since Nola. Actually ranked higher than Nola coming out (#5 prospect).

How did we pull this off? Even with NIL he makes a lot more in the draft. Can also set his college fund aside for later.

Could a team save a little on slot value on a high schooler to meet his # with a 3rd 4th 5th round pick? Yes

This thing will be a lock once if makes it to Tuesday without going top 10 rounds.

It has been said over and over again at this point.

He has formally taken his name out of the draft. He is no longer draft eligible. No one can draft him. He is coming to LSU.

Where does he realistically fit in the rotation as a freshman? Jay brought in a ton of arms

He wanted to. Local kid wants to be apart of the school he’s rooted for his entire life.

He’s going to compete for a weekend spot day one. Whether he wins one or not depends on who comes back and if they can hold him off. But we won’t be disappointed if he’s starting saturdays or Sundays for us in 25

My favorite part is that Schmidt is listed at 18 years and 9 months old. Meaning he won’t be draft eligible after his sophomore year. We should get him for 3 years

That means he will be 19 in October. Why wouldn’t he be eligible after his second season?

Bro

He is 18 in July of 2024

That means in July of 2026, the draft after his sophomore year, he will be 20.
