Will needs to step his game up and get more involved with the students. A couple days driving a golf cart around ain’t gonna cut it. You want a full student section you have to work for it. Sell the program to the students.

John Brady was always very interactive with the students, yet half the fanbase hated him because he didn't kiss their demographic's arse enough. There will always be whiners, so frick it, just win.

This is not even close to what he meant. He was talking about Kentucky not getting phased by crowds. This coach and team deserves a full
House no matter who they are playing.
WW is building a program. Are they as good as last year no, but consider where we were the last decade.

If Wade isn't willing to get out and work to sell the program then maybe it's time for him to leave.

I think he has a solid point. Maybe you don’t recognize it but it’s valid.

It’s amazing how people infer things that weren’t said

Will Wade’s Relationship with the Students
It’s almost non existent. I understand his job is to coach basketball but I wish he put more effort in interacting with the students. I hate to say it but Bruce Pearl does a great job doing this on social media and at the games. Although already a fan favorite, Coach O also does it to an extent.

I think it would help draw more students to the games and make them feel like they’re a part of the whole thing.

I couldn't imagine caring about this

Boy do I love the rant lol. For the record I love WW and I think he’s doing a fantastic job with the program. Never did I say that it wasn’t the students’ faults. It’s actually almost completely on them. But because I know they won’t get up off their arses by themselves I was just dabbling in what WW/ the administration could do to help change that culture

Dale Brown didn’t do anything specific to interact with the students. He in fact squelched a lot of stuff that happened during games like tossing stuff during games.

Dale might have not been the best Xs and Os coach, but no person in Louisiana marketed basketball like him. Very few anywhere ever have. Of course, it was a different era then and there were no expectations for LSU basketball because no one cared, so I'm sure he had more time. He went all over the place talking to people about LSU basketball and handing out LSU basketball goal nets, etc.

The whole place was raucous when he was at LSU. He marketed LSU basketball to anyone who would listen. And of course, his teams were scrappy and hustled, so the product was good for many years. He got the biggest crowds to ever see a basketball game (college or pro) in the Super Dome due to how he marketed the basketball program. What he accomplished with those games and in the PMAC had never been done before. And those Dome games are still some of the highest attended basketball games ever decades later.

With that said, Wade won the SEC last year and has a scrappy team with talent this year who is playing for 1st place. That's all people should need to get out and support the team. The basketball crowd has been a bit of a mystery for me.

I'd rather he focus on coaching and recruiting to make sure our program is as good as it can be. Coaches asking for people to attend their team's games always bothered me. You win games, you'll get your attendance.

Bingo! The lack of enthusiasm by the students is Wade's problem. Dale Brown understood this, and he personally whipped the students into a frenzy by visiting fraternities and reaching out in other ways to students.

You can complain about how things should be, but that's just the way it is. Change it!

Orgeron won a national championship, he doesn't need to work on a relationship with students. Where do you come up with this shite?
