But before Wade can get to scheming and game preparation, he has to ensure his players will fit this new normal. This means rigorous training regimens, headlined by Wade’s daily “boot camp” conditioning tests. If a player doesn’t pass every conditioning test in a given week, he won’t practice and won’t play.

I know it's football season but I don't feel like moping. I love this attitude! Go Wade

That’s the sort of attitude Wade said he intends to instill in the team. He wants his players to be tougher and better conditioned than they’ve ever been. Not because it’ll make for better practices. But because it’ll pay off when it matters the most.

It would be nice to see us make some noise in the tourney this year.

I would consider it a very successful season if we win at least one or two games in the tourney.

I feel like this could be the biggest turn around from one year to the next year in any LSU sport in recent memory. from 2 SEC wins to ____? I think this team could surprise a lot of people.

If we even make the tourney Wade is a miracle worker. And I think we do as a 9 seed or something.

What he did with the roster is mind blowing.

Bringing physicality and attention to defense. Exactly what this program needs.

You guys set the bar way too high. Wade just needs to get the team to play with consistency and effort. The big guns aren't coming in until the 18 class.

20 wins and .500 or better in conference play would be a huge improvement. Some years that will get you on the tourney bubble and some years it won't, but it's a big step up from where we were last year.

I said in another thread i feel like i did about football circa 2000-2002 where you know we'll lose some games and have a few growing pains but you'll be able to see the progress.

We needed Alleva to put forth the same effort into the football hire as he did in basketball.. I think Will Wade is going to be really good

Oh really? You think going from being the worst LSU basketball team in the modern era to the sweet 16 in one year would be a successful season?

Wade came to Alleva wanting the job. He'd been eyeing LSU as a possible jump all season. Sounds like someone in the Ath. Dept. (Nunez) told him to hire Wade.

Left to his own devices, I'm sure Joe was hot on the trail of some middle-aged coach with no real history of success whom he could vastly overpay.

I will be putting money on each LSU spread until Vegas figures out how much better this team is compared to last. Hell.. I think I have enough faith in Wade that I will just put a set amount of money every game for the year. I think we'll make some dough

Might not make the tourney, and that's ok. But I'd be willing to bet a large sum we'll be on some bubble watches throughout the year. We badly need to win game 1 in Maui against Michigan to dodge Chaminade which will probably only hurt our RPI. Beat Mich and we get Notre Dame and win or lose that game at worst we're in the 3rd place game against Marquette/Wichita/VCU/Cal.. All options are potential resume builders in a overall weak OOC schedule

It will be a successful season if we get to the NIT this year. Let's not put the wagon before the horse. This team is two years away. Very thin down low. Plenty guards but Reath is fouling maching. Other than Reath we really will struggle in the post.

Can Wade coach the football team? Seriously, this attitude would definitely help.

Maybe Tommy Moffit can learn something from Wade, because the conditioning of the LSU teams of the past few seasons have left a lot to be desired when it matters the most (vs. Bama).

You seriously expect Wade to turn what was a 2-16 SEC team around into not only a NCAAT team but also one that wins 1 or 2 games in it? Are you kidding?
