His recruiting is Trent johnson bad.
Right, #14 HS Class and #11 Transfer class. Very bad. Had a pretty big piece in Wilkinson out for the year and another Hill who averaged 16-17 a game at Murray State with personal issues. Seems legit.

Not very bad, those are national rankings buddy. And he had benched Wilk before he was injured so that he could play Justice Williams because he’s not a good coach.

Even more reason this fricking guy is a disaster. He can't win with the #14 HS class and #11 Transfer Portal class? We are so fricked man.
Also, Mwani Wilkinson would not have threaded the needle offensively so no, adding Mwani wouldn't have made him a better coach

What mcmonotone did this season was far more embarrassing than anything wade did.

The guy who never finished outside the top 10 in the SEC wouldn't be a top 10 coach right now.
He might have been 2 years ago. You realize that there have been 6-7 coaching changes since last year. He wouldn't be a top 10 coach in the SEC today. There are some that have been saying he was top 10 in the NCAA.

Were his personal issues that he just isnt a sec caliber player?

I posted this exact list of SEC coaches(excluding Beard) a few weeks ago when comparing Wade to other SEC coaches. I believe it was Elleshoe who posted the laughing response.
People on here don’t want to hear it, but the SEC coach he is most comparable to is Mike White. I’d rank him ahead of White but it’s not a huge gap between the two.
Before their SEC gigs they had good mid-major teams. Their SEC teams were always .500 or better. White was actually 5-3 vs. Wade head to head.

You’re just wrong and facts prove it.

ut with the way the media was constantly (granted completely hypocritically and unfairly) attacking Wade and keeping him and LSU in the negative spotlight, it was the prudent move that any responsible AD would have made. If he had made some Final Fours, it might have been different. And I believe he would have eventually. But at the time, the juice (tourney success) wasn’t worth the squeeze (never-ending negative PR).
If an AD makes decisions based upon "media negativity" then he (or she) may as well fricking resign. The media are virtue signaling locust moving from one fertile field of "outrage" to the next. They are currently up in arms in outrage over Ole Miss hiring Chris Beard. Do you know who will give a shite if Beard leads Ole Miss to deep tourney runs ASAP (not far fetched given what he did at Texas Tech in 2-3 years)? NO ONE WHO ACTUALLY MATTERS! The Ole Miss fans will be thrilled and the school will be raking in revenue from the success.
An AD should NEVER make decisions to appease the media...because they can NEVER be appeased!

But some of you act like he is the only human being on earth capable of leading LSU to success. There are plenty of others capable of duplicating what he did.
Perhaps. But given LSU had nearly 30 years of more bottom of the SEC finishes than NCAA Tournament appearances before Wade arrived...over the span of 3 different coaches...and has now plummeted back to the bottom of the league in ONE season after Wade was fired, I say the odds of quickly finding that guy don't seem terribly favorable.

we’ll hire somebody else. Only we’ll be in a much more favorable position to hire a better candidate.
How so? The program is still going to have the lack of cache it has now. Only it may be worse after last place finishes. That means "big-name" coaches at successful high major programs are STILL not going to want to leave their successful programs to come rebuild LSU. Just like they didn't in 2013...2017...2022. The only way LSU gets one of those guys is if they seize an unexpected opportunity. Just like Ole Miss did with Beard.
McMahon was a "big name" among mid-major coaches last season. He easily had the best season of any program from a one-bid-league. He had other options besides LSU. Yet some on here act like this was a John Brady hire where LSU just had to accept any bum who would take the job. 5 teams besides LSU in the SEC hired new HCs at the end of last season. 4 were from mid-major schools. One was a guy (White) who came from an SEC school who was on the verge of firing him. I don't recall those programs being under the "cloud of uncertainty". Yet they made similar hires to McMahon.
The reality is this. As of now it appears LSU choose poorly. Woodward actually stuck to his usual MO and hired the "biggest name" available. It's just that unlike football and baseball, the coaching market for LSU basketball was weaker. This wasn't a situation like in those sports where the programs had the championship pedigree to poach a successful coach from a power conf. school. LSU wasn't in the market for one of those coaches because those types of coaches didn't want LSU...even without the potential sanctions.
The problem is there was no underlying evaluation outside of name recognition in hiring McMahon. No analysis of whether or not his success was simply a by product of a program that has had success for 30+ years...under several coaches. No analysis into the fact the last two Murray St. HCs before McMahon who made the jump "up" had little to no success. No analysis as to whether or not had the personality and drive to get in the recruiting knife fights with other SEC programs who are ALL "dirty".
Perhaps (and hopefully) McMahon learned a ton from getting his teeth kicked in this season and is prepared to implement a full 180 in terms of how he approaches everything about his program. But if not, to say LSU will be in a much more favorable position to hire a better candidate in a year or two is foolish (unless a big time fallen star unexpectedly becomes available)

Well, his McNeese contract is probably a pretty good hint of what people think is coming his and our way. They’re not announcing his suspension two days after they hired him for no good reason. Cowboys making a preemptive strike in hopes to appease the NCAA in hopes they can keep him .
Some here have tried to make light of the NCAA investigation and its ramifications for us, but I have a sinking feeling we’re gonna get our arse handed to us .

1 sec title in 5 years. The best winning percentage in the sec during that span. What nets of significance did he cut down? What banners did he provide the rafters in the pmac? He provided basically zero significance to LSU or our program but a black eye. And embarrassment. That’s the bottom line. Right or wrong he caused LSU nothing but bad publicity and headaches. Deep runs in the big dance maybe, could’ve possibly saved him. He never gave us that pleasure. Hell he quit on his own team and lawyered up. Who the frick wants a coach that couldn’t man up in order to guide his team when the chips are on the table??? What kind of coach leaves his team in March? A straight pus**.
