Guy just told me alleva gave an ultimatum to show up or get fired
No, he said in the meeting he was told to resign or be fired.

If Wade was in the same situation, he would have fired him. But again they aren’t alike & we all know it
I think the parallel he's drawing is reasonable. If Alleva overreacts and Wade knows that any question that Alleva asks, he's not going to be able to answer at the moment given the legal issues in play, his point makes sense.

So you think Wade saved his job by not showing up?
This is absolutely a possibility if he knows going in that he's not willing to answer the direct questions he's going to get.

But you think it realistic ?
I’m not sure what you’re even asking.
What I think happened was Wade (and his attorneys) know Alleva doesn’t have his back in this situation. Alleva has proven to jump to conclusions in these situations. So Wade is going to force Alleva’s hand.
Joe can fire him without a meeting and look like a moron. Or Wade can slow play this, get paid, and let things play out.
I was literally speculating why Wade would avoid the meeting. But your contrarian, “look at me I’m so objective” self couldn’t resist.

I got a dumb idea. How about Will Wade tells the truth to Joe Alleva and then Alleva either has Wade's back or he doesn't. No one ever got hurt telling the true facts.
Either Will Wade is guilty or he is not. If he guilty, he looks for another job. If he is innocent, then the truth will be the same today as it will be a month from now.
You never perjury yourself if you tell the truth about what happened. This isn't fricking string theory here.

Bingo. Can't believe some folks are taking Alleva's side in this meeting gaffe knowing his history

I disagree. They aren’t firing Wade unless the NCAA hammers LSU. They want to keep the guy at all costs.
Well, that was a take I was pretty confident in before Wade no showed & reportedly lied to admins. So who knows.

You’re assuming King and Alleva are rational, level-headed decision makers in tough personnel matters.
However, history says otherwise.

Where do you think Wade got money for his Strong A** Offer?

Do you have any basis for this statement?
This doesn't pass the smell test.

His only basis is Funes being an avid LSU fan and being in federal financial trouble.

I suppose Wade just broke his piggy bank and scrapped together enough that it was passable as the rookie minimum.
He needed some very deep pockets somewhere. Pockets that paid out that kind of bank probably have a hole that is unexplained.
Just saying.

You are the smart guy here golfer. Where do you thing the money came from. Maybe it was Billy Cannon's last great gift to the school, but I am guessing it came from somewhere else.
And we have not scratched the surface of what type of Strong A** Offer was needed to get Ben.

You are a dumbass and the admins are slacking not banning you. There is no evidence or even a weak correlation for what you suggest.
The two situations are not remotely connected

You are right. Billy Cannon didn't print up the money that LSU has used to pay players. I was just kidding about that....too soon????

So because an LSU fan has been turned over to the feds for financial crimes, the only logical reason for this is that he’s a bagman?
Posted on 3/8/19 at 10:46 pm to Golfer
It's not the only plausible reason, but it certainly a plausible reason.

Yet you keep parading this around in multiple threads as fact.
Go away.
