Regardless, to ask people to withhold judgment clearly implies you're not guilty.

It buys you time to find a loophole, yea.

Im all for it.

It certainly isn’t a declaration of innocence

Innocent of what? To come out and say you didn't pay players is basically confirming that it sounds like you're paying players.

Do you think there is any way Wade can get out of it?

Aside from skip, Has there ever been a coach with as much fan support (percentage wise) at LSU?

Do what we have to do to keep him. I don’t care about vacated wins or suspensions. He brought life back into LSU basketball. We need him and he deserves the support of LSU and the fans.

HOPEFULLY. Joe is playing the compliance game and we can retain him. Boosters need to speak up.

Mike Pressler was innocent. But you continue to ignore how he was treated by the same athletic director.

, I'm almost certain Wade orchestrated payments to players, but if you're trying to get away unharmed, you have deny this shite as long as possible. Acknowledging it sounds like you're paying players is a bad first step.

I agree. I was just saying I was hoping he would put out a confident statement pleading his innocence & that is not how I read it.

Golfer I’m not familiar with the particulars of the Duke case. If there are specific parallels that you are drawing I want to hear them.

Did Pressler refuse to meet with Alleva? Or are you just bringing it up because of how it ended?

No. Pressler was innocent and met with Alleva to share his innocence.

In the meeting Alleva told him to resign, or he would be fired.

So, given this history, why would ANY coach willingly meet with Joe Alleva in this situation. Innocent or not?

The powers that be are playing the compliance game but Wade has put himself in the corner.

Why he directly talked to middlemen and handlers is the biggest WTF

Coaches don't even talk to other schools directly about jobs until it's late in the game, but Wade talked directly to terribly shady people. He knows better

I hope you are right, but he may not have a choice in the matter! If more comes out and stuff can be proven, he's done! I just don't understand why he is talking to a middleman. Leave that up to your assistants and boosters! All big time programs - football and basketball - pay their stars, but you have to have a better system then being caught talking to a middleman!

I honest to God think Wade is in cahoots with the FBI on this whole thing. I think it was well within WW's best interest to not meet with Aleva today knowing Aleva's past missteps with innocent Coaches....

I also, honest to God, hope Aleva steps on a rake and ends up gorked.

I read it as him declaring his innocence without directly acknowledging how the reports sound. I wasn't expecting a scorched earth defense.

By your logic Wade would be fired now. What gives?
