UL Lafayette couldn't even stay in the court with McNeese last year. Sit down turtle dove!!!

An ironic statement indeed. But I think I speak for the rest of the board in saying now would be a good time to actually start doing so.
Passion is the true enemy of reason, and it leads us to go to extraordinary means to legitimize or rationalize our passions. My friend Chat is very passionate in his dislike for WW - and you see it in his correspondence.
As one who has erred in that regard myself, I get it. But, ultimately as a Tiger fan I have a pretty strong faith in WW. He's won wherever he's been and he'll win wherever he goes.

So this means that only King can return to the team and that all of the guys we were possibly banking on becoming available with this new rule are now out of play?

Yes, four Texas A&M basketball players followed Buzz Williams to Maryland:
Pharrel Payne (forward/center)
Solomon Washington (forward)
Andre Mills (guard)George Turkson (forward/recruit)
Devil is in the details. Wierd how you decided to leave out the part that proves my point...kinda idiotic of you.
Tell me again how many followed moron Wade here...thanks
It is ironic that you bring up aTm. Our SEC experienced guard from last year decided to transfer to aTm and play for Bucky fricking Williams, rather than stay as a starter for clown Wade at LSU. Need any more proof that players were running from wades clownshow? Let that sink in...playing for Williams "bucky ball" was more appealing that starting and staying under Wade.
On Indiana. I dont fricking care, but also have no clue what kind of coach he is, or if he is liked. 4 guys left on scholly left. And yes, they left one of histories most celebrated programs, instead of playing for him.
And I absolutely expect very few if any players to be Indiana caliber historically, from w Virginia
But I agree with you IF they were solid at W Virginia, and chose not to follow...they didn't like him or other factors came into play...like
*Many key players had no eligibility left. For example, leading scorer Javon Small had exhausted his eligibility, so following DeVries wasn't an option.
*The timing was difficult. DeVries left after only one season at West Virginia, and reports indicate the move caught many players by surprise. Several publicly expressed disappointment or frustration on social media, suggesting the relationships hadn't had years to develop.
Thanks for proving my point again.
And, I never said it hadn't happen before...you should go read. The other moron poster (was it you) made reference to how often it happens.
It does NOT.

I don't think you have any actual evidence that players don't like wade. I get the impression from former players, tari Eason, for example, that they love him.

Nice deflection, no matter how ignorant. How many followed him to LSU?

I'm not quite sure you ever have a point outside of disconnected, unsupported ranting that somehow qualifies as "facts and logic"
quote:

Is this where we are in the rambling? Bemoaning that a guy who averaged 7 ppg (good enough for 95th in the SEC) for the worst team in the SEC isn't returning? A guy who started 9 games for LSU last season in which LSU went 1-8 in those starts. It's probably more indicative of how low McMahon sunk the program that the 15th or so (maybe) best PG in the SEC is seen as some "cornerstone" the new coach couldn't afford to lose
quote:

So when faced with an actual response to your absurd rambling the rebuttal is to admit you have no actual knowledge on the subject on which you are so confident about?
In the end though the LSU fanbase likes Wade and didn't want to see him go the first time. They are happy he's back. Not because he looks stylish in his 1/4 zip. But because he actually won games at LSU...something that happened only about 25% of the time over the last four years (unless those wins over Alabama St. were hallmark victories). Of course, that brings out a handful of contrarians. Not because they have much fact and logic to support their position. Just because they have some weird desire to go against the crowd and "prove" the crowd wrong.
Then again, it does provide humor in the offseason.

Typical of your lack of knowledge. He was a true freshman...small minutes and grew higher all year. Started at the end on a self admitted bad team. Stats grew and was quite efficient and better each week. Yet you choose entire year's stats. Exactly the kind of ignorance I'd expect.
Let me help your dumb arse out...
And somehow, it makes sense to mentally challenged fans like you, who think he wouldnt have been a tremendous asset, with experience.
Except for the part I gave the actual knowledge, in clear form......but a low iq guy would find that "rambling".
I dont dislike LSU having a coach with Wades ability. I dislike Wade himself.....and as we proven here, so have all the players he was in contact with and could have been here..they all abandoned.
I'm sorry you need more crystal clear indicators that he wasnt thought highly of by the PLAYERS, both current and potential.
No worries though...we have a 26 yr old guard who's played pro for many years in Europe. Proud day for LSU, right? #shitshow

What really jumps out is how he finished:
Final 5 games:
10.6 points
7.2 assists
Included an 11-point, 10-assist double-double against Ole Miss.
Scored a season-high 17 points against Texas A&M in a triple-overtime game.
Logged 51 minutes in that game, showing LSU trusted him to run the offense.
Compared with the SEC's top point guards:
Player
Late-season comparison
Walter Clayton Jr. (Florida)
Better scorer and overall player.
Mark Sears (Alabama)
Better scorer and shooter.
Zakai Zeigler (Tennessee)
Better defender and passer overall.
Jalen Reece (LSU)
Among the best young passers in the league by season's end, with one of the best assist-to-turnover ratios. You know, kinda the base importance of a true pg, moron
By March, I'd put Reece in the upper half of SEC point guards, and among freshmen he was near the top. He wasn't yet at the All-SEC level because his scoring and shooting lagged behind the elite guards, but his court vision, decision-making, and ball security were already very good.
And somehow, it makes sense to mentally challenged fans like you, who think he wouldnt have been a tremendous asset, with experience.

The guy signed top 20 classes in 4 of his 5 years at LSU (with a top 10 class committed before he was fired). He signs a top 15 class at NC State. He somehow convinces enough decent players to transfer to Lake Charles, LA to play for a school with ZERO basketball history, enough so that he ties the NCAA record for the largest single season turnaround in his first year. However, "suddenly" no players like him because he (a) did not retain anyone from last place team in the SEC and (b) no NC State players came along. That sounds reasonable. Let's ignore 12 years of recruiting success to surmise all of a sudden every player in CBB dislikes Wade.
You and ChatGPT have cracked the code! In addition to somehow suggesting Jaylen Reece is a better combination of three all SEC players, Wade signing European pros is not part of a plan. It's out of necessity because no one likes him (and apparently money either)...despite the fact LSU is far from the only school that has signed international pros to play CBB this season. Hell, the great Matt McMahon's prized recruit was one such guy (prior to being fired).
quote:
Proud day for LSU, right? #shitshow
You're right. Let's take our DeLorean back to 1986 where LSU can sign the local hero from Redemptorist High to play four years in exchange for gift cards to Pizza Hut and Nu Shooz records.
The game changed. If international pros are eligible to play college basketball, bring them on. That may not be the case next year. If you don't like it, change the rules. Speaking of 1986, LSU did actually try to sign a European pro named Arvydas Sabonis.

players have followed wade to new jobs, they don't hate him.

not sure what you mean, you were making the point that players hate wade so much that they never follow him to new jobs, I provided a direct counterexample. the opposite of a deflection.
also former wade player Brandon Murray followed wade to mcneese.
again, you have no real evidence players dislike wade. you just made it up.

I dont deny wades talent, for the billionth time. I dont like the person, the character, the actions, the disrespect for authority, etc etc
12 years? Great!
Hes here THIS year, and I've honed in on that alone...and it was bad. I didn't rely on 1 metric when showing the flaws....not just current players that could have followed, not recruits that didn't follow, not just roster players at LSU that didn't want to stay w him announced, and not currently recruited players by LSU that chose not to commit.....that totality of all those metrics HAS to tell you something.
And for God's sake, can you be honest and answer 1 question...is this the big splash you expected, and he promised upon accepting the job?
No
I hope and prey LSU wins every game.

Uh, you realize the coach has to WANT them right? They can't just transfer.
BYU kids often are there for a particular reason and life. Kinda different than McNeese, ya think?

Sure, in the past. What about a month or 2 ago? zero
So we live in the past...great recruiter, none this year. Players followed, none this year, etc

you are implying its a bad thing that no NC st players wanted to follow wade, and this is because players do not like him. you made it it up that they don't like him. and even by your metric, players following him, he has guys like copeland and Murray who did in fact follow him to new jobs.
your point is nonsense, your data non-existent and you even fail on the nonsense metric you invented.
you even contradicted your own point by noting that wade might not have thought the NC st players were good value:

your point is made up unsupported self-contradictory nonsense

For all intents and purposes, this is "pro" basketball. So who's to say Wade and his staff valued any of those players at the salaries they wanted (or other programs may have offered)? Let's use Reece as an example. Maybe Wade and his staff did want him...but they valued him at a certain salary number. One they weren't willing to overpay to sign him. That happens in pro sports EVERY YEAR. Teams may want to retain a player. But they are only willing to pay him a certain amount. If another team values that player at a higher amount more often than not the player signs with the other team. It's not a matter of the former team not "wanting" the player. It's that the don't want to pay him that amount.
Rick Stansbury was announced as part of the staff less than two weeks after Wade was announced. That means the wheels were in motion to make that happen BEFORE Stansbury was announced. Stansbury isn't a part of the staff because Wade wants help recruiting Mississippi and Kentucky HS players. Stansbury is on staff because of his international contacts. It wasn't a situation where Wade was hired, totally struck out in the portal/retaining current players, then pivoted to Stansbury. Wade intended to recruit the international market from the jump.

And for God's sake, can you be honest and answer 1 question...is this the big splash you expected, and he promised upon accepting the job?
If he has signed players who have previously been drafted by NBA clubs and are thought to be potential NBA prospects who have played as professionals in competitive international leagues then I would say that is a pretty big "splash". Just look at what is happening across the street. Fans are excited a HS player who was taken in the 2nd round of the MLB draft is choosing to play at LSU. And he's only played against lesser HS competition. Here you have at least one guy who was drafted in the second round of the NBA draft and played against MUCH better competition that HS players choosing to play college basketball.
That aside, the big "splash" I expected is for Wade to win games. LSU has yet to play a single game this season. So whether that "splash" manifests or not is still TBD. I don't really care about "winning" May, June, July, August. McMahon "won" a lot of those months too. Show me the results in Nov - March. That is ALL that matters.

Lie. We were talking about byu/kentucky, etc. All I know of NC Sts talent is that NONE followed.
Quit lying to yourself. You have no point, because wade didn't recruit, maintain, or bring followers.
So all u and others do is bring up the past. Its sad.
