Billy Donovan is nearly 10 years younger than Trent Johnson & has 2 National Championships.
WOW... YOU SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quit posting if you post idiotic things like this... seriously.
Truth hurts Bro..
Which coach would most good High School Basketball players choose?
A 45 year old coach with 2 NC's or a 54 year old journeyman coach, who's never been to an Elite 8 or Final 4?

LSU paid 3 Million dollars for 5 SEC wins in 2 years.
Ask again why your Football ticket prices keep going up..

I think LSU misses Coach Pierre as far as recruiting goes he was a good recruiter! Also,
I would like to see Johnny Jones as LSU's
basketball coach,

I'd rather give Johnson a lifetime contract and rename the PMAC the Brady Dome than hire that horse's arse.

You asked this before. The answer is clearly NO.

Everything about this makes me laugh
Gimmy Nolan Richardson and a full court press for 40 minutes! I use to hate his teams.

Yes it does. You asked if I would be happy with his results. Hell No!
Johnson & Alleva killed LSU Basketball.
I suggest a lawsuit.

Brady loaded the gun and handed it to them

You can bring up coach K or dale or anyone who started slow and built something and throw out their first four years and say, see, that what's Trent is doing, but then others can bring out hundreds that started the same way their first four years and then just continued to suck.
If fact I have got to think there are at least 20 suck coaches for every one turned it around coach.
So what to think? Well, that the odds are against Trent. That he probably isn't going to be the next Nolan Richardson.
Doesn't mean he can't be. I think he deserves one more year, but I also think that the next recruiting class is paramount. It better be off the freakin chain, cuz his recruiting makes John Brady look like Billy Donovan.
Brady ran people off and he did have a lucky streak of good BR talent, but damn, he had some talent on every freaking team and if that meant going out and getting jucos like Lamont Roland or Beshara or whatever, they had guys that could play in the SEC.
This team has NO talent. Turner, maybe Warren are SEC caliber.
So the catchphrase for Brady was "draconian sanctions" and for Trent it is "four year plan" and "Academic Progress Rate".
Whatever. It only flies so long. I am willing to fly a little longer, but I am looking for the landing zone

It's a little repetitive now, but again, he's proven to do well with upperclassman and a little talent. We'll have a young team again next year, but they'll have experience and with a PG and O'Bryant I'd like to beleive we can win the 4 or 5 games in the SEC that we could have this year. If he wins 17 or 18 next year and we're .500 or better in the league I'll feel better about things. If not, the seat should get real hot.

Coming from someone who's not satisfied with the state of the program at the moment, I'd still have to agree with this.

And this is just silly.
His pay does matter. If JB had started at 1.5 mil and not ended up there, his rope would have been alot shorter.
There is always performance expectations that come with more money.
Pay a guy $600,000 and there are significantly different expectations than when you pay a guy $1.5 mil

If there was any doubt about the direction of the basketball program under TJ, those questions were answered on Saturday vs. Auburn.
Arrogance + incompetence = failure

I know this is slightly off topic but LSU got very lucky hiring Skip Bertman as the baseball coach and the University of Florida got lucky in hiring Billy Donovan. LSU also rolled a seven in hiring an unproven Nick Saban.
My point is Billy Donovan or Roy Williams would be much better than John Brady or Trent Johnson, but this is LSU. Maybe one day, a more astute Athletic Director will make a fortunate hire and the basketball program gains progress and grows like the early 80's baseball team did. But as long as the PMAC is nearly empty and La. is not producing stellar talent in the High Schools, then you really are at the mercy of these HS All-Americans. If I am an All-American and can chose any Division one program to attend, the question becomes do I want to play for Rick Pitino, or Roy Williams, or play at Duke ? Or do I want to play for John Brady or Trent Johnson ? Most kids are going to go prime time. Do you want to learn the game of basketball from Billy Donovan or Trent Johnson ? Do you want to stay at home in Louisiana or go play for someone who has multiple national championships ? just saying.

I disagree. He's proven he can win at 2 other schools.
