They will say BK left the program in shambles and that the current staff will need time to recover. Book it.

ND is overrated whether or not Kelly is there.

Even Kelly knew that…. That’s why he left for LSU and the talent down here.

They will go with the variation of the Scott Frost excuse: "best 0-2 coach of all time"

I personally think it has more to do with propping up Ohio State and their schedule so they can say look Ohio State demolished a top 5 team, blah blah...

This. Media will slobber all over Ohio State.

Win or lose it’s gonna be Kelly’s fault. If ND wins, they will say Kelly was holding them back, and if ND losses they will say it’s Kelly’s recruits and the new coach needs time to get his recruits in.

Oddsmakers don’t always get it right. This past weekend two good sized favorites didn’t cover and were outright-beat. OSU was hot and cold last season. They were a tough team to get a pulse on when to wager on them. With that hook I think I’d take the +17.5 and also sprinkle a little on ND money line. That Notre Dame defense wasn’t giving up any points at the back end of their regular game season. I think OSU wins by 7 to 14 points.

OP who gives a shite how ND does this weekend unless you are gambling on or against them. Brian Kelly is at LSU so whatever happens up in Columbus is on the new ND head coach good or bad.

Ohio St is going to skull drag them -17.5 is too low

I disagree. While OSU is much better, it’s still the first game of the season. Even later in the season, that would be a lot of points. Think how LSU completely dominated Ohio in the 2007 BCS, and we still only won by 14.

This is really a ND beat writer and fan forum narrative. Not a national media narrative. The national media more or less unanimously agrees that Brian Kelly is going to win a lot of games at LSU.
