If he is to stand any chance, slim as it might be, he would need a full court press by LSU media relations. Do you think LSU will do this? They didn't really for PP7 until late in the year, but if it is to have any real impact, it would have to start in the offseason.

Sure. He should be considered in the mix from the beginning of this season. And it wouldn't hurt to put out a different message for LSU right now.

Disagree...he already has a nickname that the national media loves. also, if his 3rd season is as good as his 1st or 2nd, he'll get plenty of recoginition. heisman campaigns don't work anyway. wha't he gonna do? run ads? billboards? write a letter to the voters?

If his early season stats are noteworthy, there will be a marketing blitz. It will not have any effect on the ballots.

I'd rather HB7 get less attention actually. Alabama made him a target after the 1st game and did everything in their power to expose his height. They threw open taller receivers, leaving HB to make great tackles, but not breaking up passes. The more attention he gets, the more this may become the reality. I'd rather he stay at the level he's at, forget the Heisman attention, and let him be a leader on a 2013 BCSNCG winning LSU Team
