Who was Saban before he was at LSU? The opposite could be said. Louisiana and LSU made Nick Saban. He lost 3+ games a year while at LSU except 2003. He has done well since being at a states flagship school, but was average while at MSU.

IM not a posiTiger per say, I am not anti Miles however I think the school would be fine if he chose to leave, that said, I would be very upset with a Steele hire, Peveto promotion or even a Stoops hire.
(Stoops is not THAT bad but,,we can do much much better IMO)

It is a shame we missed out on Pelini and Muschamp.

The only consistent thing about you negatigers is that you bitch on everybody, and sometimes you are right.

Like:

What!!! Hire some Jew from Miami? What are they thinking?
Check

Nick Saban who? That short dude can't even be the best team in his state. WTF do we want him for?
Check

CJJ is way too young and doesn't have big time experience. He will never recruit big time talent to LSU.
Check

Paul who? From where? He'll never win at Hoover. We've made our last trip to Omaha.
Check

Yeah being a negatiger is easy, just predict that everything will be bad and if something bad does happen, you strut around like you really know something.
When things go well, there is the ever ready, "Yes, but....what if.... maybe.... it could have....that won't work again......it won't work against (team to be named later)....that was just luck...."

You perpetual losers are so sad.

So what is "screwing up the DC hire"? Not hiring who YOU want?

And what if LSU's D ranks around the 4th best in the SEC? Do we know for sure if YOUR choice would have done better?

How are YOU going to classify "screwing up"? Judging by the idiotic negatigers obligatory posting, this is a forgone conclusion and the whining will start the first game of next season no matter the on field results.

Stupid negatards!

Absolutely we will turn on him some. We are posi's because he is deserving. Some of u have either forgotten what LSu is with a regular or poor coach or just arent old enuf to remember.
I am a posi, because he wins, recruits well, has a terrific staff, graduates his players and develops them for the NFL. If either of these slips so does my posi.

So now heres one for the half full negas.

If he makes a good hire again, will some of u finally give in and say LSU is lucky to have Miles or is that just never a possibility.

There's a lot of forgiveness in the hearts of the Positigers when it comes to Miles' deficiencies. If he screws up the DC hire, will they finally turn on him?

Nope. Never. If the defense sucks next year and years to come, it will be Alleva's fault. If you haven't been able to gather from all of the Miles apologists, Alleva is the scapegoat. Chavis, as well--but mainly Alleva. Nothing will ever be Miles' fault. If/when he leaves, half of the Miles crowd will blame the fans for being spoiled, the other half will blame the LSU powers that be and/or Alleva (if he's still around).

The sinking ship of LSU football is a Miles problem. The constant of the equation is Miles. Not former and current offensive coordinators, not former players, not current and former AD's. It's Miles.

I was a Posi until this year. I see a stubborn coach who refuses to change. His Michigan 1970 philosophy is not going to work again. It's too easy defend and we have too many good coaches in conference. His winning percentage has slipped. His recruiting, while still outstanding, lost it's hold on North LA under Stud's watch. His staff is missing it's most important member. More players leave early for the NFL than any other school. Do you ignore these things or just not see them?

If he makes a good hire and adjusts his offense to the point that they can be at least average (ridiculous considering the talent they have) then yes, I will feel extremely lucky.

A trainwreck by definition happens when the damn thing wrecks I'm upset we didn't get Pendergast or Shoop, but I didn't know Shoop would be an option until just a few days ago. I don't have time to go look for really good young DC's that are succeeding at a high level program and getting paid peanuts. I'm sure there are at least a few more.
