I think Saban is on the way down, and the SEC will see an upheaval in power over the next few years.

I have been a huge Miles fan, but hiring Stoops may be more than I can handle.

Saban resurrected the footballl program and created the platform miles stands on now.

Miles has done well in his own right but there's no denying Saban built this program up to what it has become.

What was LSU Football before Saban?

This sums up how I feel too. I've stood by him for so long (through some pretty aggravating times) and I'm not ready to give up on him just yet but he sure has lost a lot of my trust in him.

Say what you will about him, he is smart (not to be confused with his stubbornness during games), I think he knows how the program looks right now.

He gets this hire wrong, he may as well pack it up, and I don't like saying that but I do think he knows he's coaching for his job next season.

I'm praying he makes the right hire.

That's where we disagree, I think, in his mind, he thinks he has earned his right to do whatever at this point.

Not sure about all that but he does seem to not appreciate what he has at LSU as much as he did when he first got here.

If he wanted to do whatever, he would hire the first DC that he could think of.

But I do understand what you're saying.

If he hires stoops, steele or BDP then its going to be a shitfest. If he brings in CP and O then I will give him props. I feel like les is going to botch this

As the LSU student we heard saying FU Saban! Why anyone would support saban and say they are a tiger fan is baffling to me. All he is now is Tigerbait!

stating a fact that Saban is a much better coach than Miles isn't even close to supporting him.

Bullshite. Miles inherited a 3 loss team and program that had won 10 games 4 times in over 45 years.

2 years removed from back to back 10 win seasons in 96 97.
Saban walked into a program stocked with nfl talent. Posters on here act like saban walked into a program that was starting walk ons.
This notion that saban was this dominant force at lsu is just false.he lost at least 3 games every year but once

Dont forget about fixing the offense. Another putird offensive display next season with a wrong hire at dc and think that sums it up perfectly.

If saban is such a great coach have hin go to kansas and see how many games he wins. Hard to lose if you have superior talent. The difference between bama and the tigers id recruiting resources. Some above the table and some under.

When was the last time LSU won the SEC before Saban arrived ?

It's much different building the program and winning vs getting handed a stacked roster and winning.

LSU wasn't shite before Saban arrived and its not up for debate. Saban won the first title since 1986 and first Sugar Bowl since 1968.

you do realize part of being a college coach is acquiring talent. He came to LSU and built a wall around la. He goes to bama and starts pulling in big recruits. Saban has talent because he goes out and gets the talent. He also puts the talent in a system that fits them.

yea, leave out that it had just won a nc the year before that. Also had just pulled in a number one class. leaving out that saban rebuilt LSU and put up a fence around our state is just ridiculous. Les did a nice job coming in and keeping it up for as long as he has. He has also done a good job of rebounding once but if he makes a bad hire here than it will look pretty bad.

the miles fans trying to discredit saban because 1. he is at bama now and 2. because they want to believe miles is better than him are laughable.

You forget that in 2004 saban had given up on recruiting. So much so that miles didnt get a full class.
I didnt discredit saban. I said the facts of his tenure at lsu. Not one person has said Miles is a better coach than saban.just that Miles's tenure at lsu was better than Saban's and it cant be denied.

He won the west with 3 losses. To bad 2 losses couldnt win the west in 96 or 97.

Its common knowledge that maintaining a powerhouse program is far harder than building one. Which is harder to do have 3 elite recruiting classes OR 10 great classes. Which is harder to do? Win 13 games 2 years in a row OR average 10 wins for a decade?
