It's coaching. The entire defense looks like shite. Can only point to 1 thing. Coaching. Defensive line doesn't have a DL coach, Steeples was a HS coach who never coached his position group, Cooks was a terrible DB coach before he came to LSU, House defenses have been shredded since the back end of last season.

Coaching. All the players look like shite in the starting defense. None of the transfer portal guys doing anything, Mason Smith not looking good, Perkins not looking good, House's own position group in LBs not looking good. They all look bad.

Coaching. Time to clean house. Better hope Aranda gets fired and comes back here. Defense will prevent this team from being good this year. It will be the achilles heel.

He still looks fast and strong as ever, it really just seems like he’s being put in the wrong positions to impact the game.

Truth hurts. This defense will not be good this year. It is what it is.

We don't have an elite recruiter on that side either. Another negative.

Thanks, I would have never known your stance on this if you wouldn't have been melting in every thread since the FSU loss.

I watched Ole Miss play Tulane yesterday and their Oline is a dumpster fire.

If House doesn’t send Perkins after Dart the entire game, I’m good with moving on from him.

Every player who has experience on that defense has regressed except Mingo. That's what happens when you have a roster turnover with portal players. The chemistry isn't there and we whiffed on several portal players. The guys we got outbid for on FSU are impacting their team. The ones we settled with not so much. The scheme is an issue which is partly why they can't figure out what to do with Perkins.

Someone needs to look at LSU's scouting. It has noticeably dipped since Nader left. I'm not sure if this is more a product of what BK wants in players or the scouting is just failing on the evaluations based on what they're putting front of him.

My thought is if coach is walking around saying we have to consider his future, then he most certainly is. But then again, his draft stock will drop if he’s a non factor. I think Perkins will have some flash in the pan this season, but might not be until the biggest stage.

Been saying this for some time now. Our defense is going to tread water as is until we bring in elite recruiters

I've said since last year I'm not a huge fan of house's scheme.

I actually think this is a very strong possibility tbh. He doesn't look happy and why should he? In the FSU game he played like he didn't give a shite. There's reports he gets into fights in practice and you don't see him celebrating with his teammates. His body language says it all.

He went from being heralded as one the best players in college to a complete non factor. I bet he is frustrated watching this dumbass coaching staff continue to scheme him out of games.

I agree with you on the coaching but at some point Perkins has to be accountable for himself. Being selfish with his attitude is not going to get him anywhere in games. In the FSU game it was on Perkins because he played like he didn't care. That's on him, imo.

I didn’t think he looked like he didn’t care. To me he looked like he was confused about what he was supposed to be doing. He looked completely out of position all night.

You gotta be kidding. He's looked like an old man in both games.
