Saw him in Austin this weekend and had a chance to visit. Said he loved his time in Baton Rouge, visits when he can and when I told him that "We were giving Les one more season", he laughed and said, "tell them to call me".

You wanted him to say Baton Rouge sux? Dude he was laughig AT you on the we (who in the frick are WE?)comment and the give me a call comment was to get your dumb arse out of his face so he could go about his day.

So you are in an executive and decision making position with regards the hiring and firing of athletic coaches? ooooooooooooooook
Look sparkey. Try this. You are a well known football coach. Some people you don't know accost you in a public place. First they kiss up to you. You respond by telling they have a nice town and you enjoyed your time there. If you were a total arse hole he might have just buzzed them off but he didn't because you have some class.
So they felt emblodened. They pretended to speak from some level of authority about their football coach. Now as a football coach, the last thing you want to do is publically criticize another football coach espcially to someone you don't even know. So you play the being nice game further, looking desperately for a way out of this situation.
Then the bomb hits, the stranger offers you a job. "Awwww shite", you think, "I gotta get out of here." You smile give a little nervous laugh and give these strangers something nice as you duck as fast as you can to the men's room to have a good belly laugh.
