Can we just stay on topic here? Thayer/SI = bad, Miles/LSU = good.

But even assuming they did so, the punishments would be levied against OSU, not Miles personally. Or are you concerned that a detailed investigation of Miles' conduct at OSU would lead to a subsequent inquiry at LSU?

There's not going to be a piggy backed investigation into LSU. LSU is completely and totally in the clear on this deal.

However very unlikely, it's not out of the realm of possibilities for Miles to get some sort of punishment from the NCAA if they were to indeed investigate beyond the statute of limitations using the "willful violators" clause.

That being said, this investigation might not be completed in our lifetime anyway, so those saying not to sweat it are probably pretty accurate for that reason alone.

Actually Turner is owned by Time Warner and NBC is owned by GE, but I was trying to get people riled up and you just threw water on it!!!

Is that something he did when "personally interviewing" the recruting chicks?

Seems there's no love for Thayer at Texas either... Burntorangenation.com article on SB Nation

quote:

Rather, I'm exceptionally peeved that Mack Brown and Texas' names were unnecessarily sullied because the New York Times allowed unchecked Thayer Evans to write what he did.

quote:

It's clear as day Evans has opportunistically carved a little niche for himself freelancing Oklahoma stories for the New York Times, and that he sensed a woman scorned in Ms. Adams, greedily stroking her wounded ego to get what he needed for the Hit Job.

This Thayer dude is a hack journalist that is running interference for OU... ESPN and Joe Schad taking his story and running hard with it knowing this guys shady credibility is troubling also.

I guess Les Miles controversy sells at ESPN...

Nobody likes Thayer. He does hit pieces that never amount to anything except getting him a week of attention.

Dohrmann live on ESPN just threw Miles under the bus big-time. Said under the Miles era Ok St was definitely corrupt.

We all saw what happened to Auburn after all those allegations came out about Cam Newton, and then their set of disgruntled players. Still waiting for them to be thrown on probation.

I think Russillo just said Thayer from Sports Illustrated will be on coming up...
