Heck, we fired Smoke, and he at least got there. And the only time PM did, it was with Smoke's players.
LOL .. wut ??
CPM got us there twice and ran off most of smoke's players after the 2007 season .. CPM recruited virtually every player on that 2009 team ..

Touche-our outfield ran like they had weights in their jock. How many times did SB outfield get popups out of bounds at least five times. LSU could never reach them. Also, taking Fields out of center field was a stupid mistake. The center fielder cost us runs by his poor play. Another bad decision by PM. Fields would have easily chased down several hits to center field.

Agreed, if we would have we would have stopped many of their points from being scored.

We had to make a decision to sacrifice defense for offense. It was the right move given our hitting. Arby was an automatic out. It was not a bad move at all. Not even close.

their coach had the outfield positioned perfect on multiple occasions too.
I disagree, their outfield was faster and mor athletic than LSU. We looked like we had rocks in our pants!!!! Rhymes-good hitter, but slow. Katz-good hitter, but why in the hell was he playing center field? Bad mistake on PM part. No, SB outfielders were fast. No junk in their trunk.

Couldn't disagree more with your reasoning. Fields played the first game and we won. Our hitting was so bad what difference would it have made. FIELDS would have got several of those fly balls that Katz missed and definitly the one he missed that cost two runs. Again, it was PM who did it and it cost the team runs.

they were more athletic, but if you didnt see the OF shading hitters to certain fields you didnt watch the game. they kept showing SBs coach positioning OFs and on a couple occasions, the ball was hit right at an OF that was obvisouly shaded a certain direction.

it's not secret our OF sucks defensivly. Yocum sucks, so jacoby had to leave CF to play 2nd. Scaimbra goes in and cracks his neck, so we are down to our 3rd string CF. Fields can't hit worth a damn and itsn't great defenvisly, and the same with Foster. Katz is very slow and is not a OF. That is 5 diff CF we used this year. You just cant do that. Noone is 5 deep in CF and it all started with Jacoby having to come back to 2B.

I think you're being dishonest with yourself if you write off our lack of hitting as simply slumping at the wrong time. This was after all a team that got shut down by Alcon St to start the season. I think our offensive #s are slightly inflated by raph playing out his mind for a stretch there and a relatively cake midweek schedule. I could be wrong on what our SEC play #s look like though
This was not a good hitting baseball team.

To be fair Mitchell was a Miles recruit.

To be honest this team over achieved this year and for that PM should get much of the credit for winning the SEC with this level of talent. My problem is that since PM’s arrival he has had more poor recruiting classes than good ones and LSU has steadily dropped as a program but still getting to Omaha 2 of PM's 6 years. To his credit, he won the CWS one of those years. South Carolina on the other hand has replaced LSU as the SEC's most dominate baseball team. Ray Tanner has taken SC to the CWS all 6 of the years of PMs Time at LSU, has won 21 straight NCAA home post season games and has played for the CWS title in 3 of those years winning back to back NCs the last 2 years and is poised to do the same this year. You would have to believe that over the years only Skip has enjoyed this type of success.
Tanner has won these NCs after PM won his 1st title and after both teams opened new state of the art home stadiums in 2009. The point is Tanner has used his success and the new stadium to out recruit PM and not by a little bit. PM during this period has brought in good but not up to LSU baseball standard recruiting classes. I am afraid that next year’s team will not have a Kausman,or even good but not great players like Austin Nola or even Tyler Hanover and the prospect for remaining players do not appear great. We are going to have to accept the fact that under PM one, two, or even 3 SEC programs will consistently be better than ours and the days of LSU dominance may be over. Talent is the issue. PM needs to step it up.

How easy will it be to hire an assistant coach if everytime a team doesn't go to Omaha you fire the assistants. People act like it's supposed to be easy to go. Calm down we won the SEC and hosted a super regional and returning the majority of our everyday players.

I'm pretty sure most are mad that we lost a Super Regional at home, which no one thought would happen. And to top it off, we lost to a team named Stony Brook.

No, after 2009 title he made the comment he would like to coach another 10 years
looking at it the next baseball coach will come in about 7 years which is not that far off

Didn't he admit to taking a year off after 2009? Wouldn't that be the time the current players were recruited mostly?
