If so, do you think it works?

Yes and yes.

Our secondary is light years better than Bama's receivers.

It works, but don't put a lot of wieght in the upper boxes, and don't stack them too high, unless you have one of those trucks.

You have to commit to stopping the run. Cannot let their QB just hand-off to TR and move the chains and score points. That's too easy.

Dunno how we'll start out. My suggestion would be to move Logan to DE in place of Adams.

Stack the box and have someone glued on Richardson/RB as a passing outlet out of the backfield.

Yeah, I hope we shut that down!

only a moron wouldnt make Bama have to throw medium to deep passes. You have to stop TR both in the run and screens/pass...and the tight end and the WR short cross over the middle.

Id take my chances bump and running their "decent" receivers and bring the heat...if they get a few big plays..so be it. I bet we force just as many big mistakes as they get big plays

Stack it until they make us pay... I am sure we will get some big defensive plays before they adjust and get the jitters out.

stack the muh fuh line! Blitz McCarrion the minute he steps off the bus. He needs to be uncomfortable in the pocket. Tigers do that, they win.

I don't think we can due to the fact that Bama runs a lot of 3 wide 1 back sets. 7 in the box at best, and more depending on their formations.

I've seen a few analysts point out the WR downgrade for Bama from a year ago, but not many.
LSU D ~ Bama D
LSU WR/QB >>> Bama WR/QB

I like our matchup on the outside alot better.
Both teams will try to stack the box, but I see LSU having much more success passing.

Forcing Alabama into 3rd and 7+ consistently would be huge for LSU. I'm not TOO worried about AJ throwing.......unless it gets to where he absolutely has too for Alabama to win. THEN I'll be a little worried.

Most definitely! We have a great secondary, and until they prove they can beat us downfield we shouldn't stop doing so.

Yeah, best and most logical course of action would be to shut down Richardson and force Mccarron to beat ya. If we're able to get a few licks in on him and get in his face, then it could be a long day for the Tide.

Yes. We have to... To stop TR, man up on the receivers.... See how it goes, force them into 3rd and long, and get pressure on the young qb. I also look for our D to be trying to put some licks on the qb early whether its passing or not.. handle him very rough.. get in his head.

8 in the box all night except in obvious passing downs.

Both teams will probably do this.
