Nothing stellar. Go 6-for-10 against Tennessee and I’ll be impressed. Otherwise not out of the ordinary stuff. Again, we are talking star player for context. He is/was not one

again.308 over the last 25 SEC games isn’t the second half.
The last 3 series were A&M, Alabama and Ole Miss. 2 tournament teams.
4/9 Vs A&M
3/10 vs Tennessee
3/9 Vs Vandy
3/12 Vs Arkansas
Scabs.

Not star quality. Several sec players hit .308 this season which was an offensive season in college baseball

Lol, Milam had a higher OPS as a freshmen than duplantis had ever

again, if you look at a flat stat line you wouldn’t get it.
a kid got better and better and better as the season went on.
It’s exactly what you want to see from a freshmen.
He had multiple
walk off in the postseason.
that’s how stars are born.

Duplantis didn’t have power. But he also hit on the heart of the order for 4 years and produced every year. Let’s simmer on Milam until he can prove to get out of the bottom third of the order on an average hitting team

Last half of season in sec play was a cake walk compared to first half

He hit in the middle of the order plenty

that would be a good point if he didn’t start drastically improving week 3.
he was 7/18 against the 2 teams in the CWS Finals.

CROWN HIM KING JAMES
I’m not there yet. College baseball was offensive this year. Duplantis played when there was better pitching and defense. Is what it is

Solid freshman year. Nothing Grahovac like but solid. I could see him being a very good college player. I still need to see more to PROVE it
Nobody respected him this year. Now teams have tape and will game plan for him. Let’s see how he does.

You wanna talk “average hitting teams” go look at those team Duplantis was on
Team batting average in
2016 .295
2017 .285
2018 .283
2019 .273

Naw naw G-Muffin. My post title remains the same. No proven stars on this LSU team assuming Herring and Jones leave

I do have to admire how you keep doubling and tripling down on your stupidity. You really are a special type of person.

That’s back when pitching and defense were better, as I’ve stated plenty in this thread
Offense won the day in 2024, no question about it
How many star players were there that batted ahead of Milam this year? Tommy. That’s it

how many “stars” period where in those 2018 and 2019 teams?
Jared Jones?
What are we talking about?
Milam had like 9 games in the 2 slot.

AND Tony has the #1 recruiting class in the country coming in.
We have the top class according to one service, so that’s not unanimous. Now we know one or two of them won’t make it to campus, but that’s just how recruiting goes in big-time college baseball.

it's funny how some of these negative fans forget this. LSU in a down season after losing all their bats still hit for .284 this past season.
