.275 is .275
.326 is .326
And gave plenty of examples he did well in 4 SEC series against the 2 CWS finals teams as well as 2 more NCAA tournament teams. But again, we're ignoring all that because you think he only hit bad pitching all season long. As well as his great postseason performance hitting .386 in our most important games all season long (like the fact you leave off him hitting 3 for 5 in an elimination game against UNC).
quote:
7 hole is the 7 hole (on an average hitting team)
Hit 24 times 1-6 in the order this season, only 11 times was he in the 7-hole. He finished the season 3 straight games hitting out of the 2-hole. It's almsot like they saw a freshman get better and moved him up the lineup.
quote:
Like I said, if you wanna crown him than put that crown on his head mane
The NCBWA crowned him as an all-american. But again, maybe they didnt have you breaking things down for them like he could only hit bad pitching all season long.

The guy knows he has no argument and just wants to stir up nonsense.
He’s not worth your time.

Who hit .251 here?
Why did you ignore what Milam did against the 2 NCAA Regional teams and 2 CWS finals teams that were posted? Interesting to say the least. I was under the impression all his stats came against sh*t team/pitchers.
When I isolate Milam against only SEC competition and the postseason competition (leaving out every non conference game prior to postseason), he hit .301. Doesn't seem like much of a dip for a guy who hit .326 over the whole season.
I mean certainly not like a guy such as Brady Neal

Bingo.
Now go look at his averages every year at Arizona where he was All PAC12
Pitching competition matters. Milam was .275 in a 30-game sample size when SEC teams were putting their best foot forward. Far from a star in my view. But can he become one? Sure. May “can”. But for the first time in a long time, lsu lacks one that they can count on for high level production at the moment. Maybe they sign Laviolette and it changes.
That’s just my assessment and if you don’t agree then that’s your prerogative. Opinions are like mothers, we all have them and they tend to be biased towards their own.

Why would i care about that, its not apples to apples. Milam hit .326 this season and played in just about every single SEC game (but 1) and the entire postseason.
Again, his season at the plate this year is better than any season your self-proclaimed star Duplantis ever had here over FOUR seasons. But you do nothing but give excuses as to why Milam isnt any good or something

This is pretty good, you do realize this is not some sort of "gotcha" right? Almost every player have their average dip in SEC conference play vs. OOC play. But again, towards the end of the season the dude was on fire, he hit .386 in our most important games of the season during the postseason. As a result of that and the overall season he had, he was a All-American. Thats not my opinion, thats a fact.
If you're going to sit here and tell us Duplantis was a star player here, you cant sit here and argue that Milam doesnt have a great shot of being the same (or better) after in just his first season here, he had a better year than ANY of the 4 years Duplantis had here at the plate.

Would he be a potential star if he hit .226?
ETA: Dylan Dreiling had a worse average, worse K rate, the same SLG, fewer SBs, fewer RBIs than Milam as a freshman and didn't even play a position.
He hit 50 points lower and struck out way more when all he had to do was hit.
In conference.

If Shores is 100% he will dominate. Really unfortunate he got hurt he's an elite pitcher.

He had the 2nd highest batting average among freshmen in the SEC. Did every other freshman bat only against the other teams stud aces?

dude stop trolling.
that’s just weak, and it makes you look like a shithead.

Not self proclaimed. Proven. LSU’s all time hits leader. Batted in heart of order for 4 years.
Key word is proven. Not speculation. You are speculating Milam will be a star. Big difference.

Thanks for making my point. Dreiling wasn’t star quality as a freshman. Neither was Milam. The difference is Dreiling PROVED to be a star. That’s what this thread is all about. Proven
Posted on 6/28/24 at 3:33 pm to burreauxxx
is that the point? who was our proven star in 2020 and 2021?

Milams season this year was better than Duplantis ever had at the plate, that's not a debate.
He was a freshman all American. Also not a debate.

What a dumb comparison. Milam faced the same pitching as everyone else in the SEC. It’s not like he’s just transferring over from the PAC 12.
