Ok where is your proof that Leach isn’t running the Air Raid offense anymore? Can you provide any evidence or proof that your theory is real?

Can we get this thread back on track?
Slinger is tremendous!!

Yea you are, you’re saying that Leach is lying that he doesn’t run the offebse he claims to run, that after 20 years
Nope, I'm not arguing with leach.
Leach describes his offense as having some "air raid" concepts. He can call it what he wants because he literally helped invent it
In 2097, TTU ranked 15th in yoga, this year Minschew ranked 75th
It's a different typ of offense.
It was effective at ball control

No its not and the only person i can find on the entire internet that says this IS YOU.
Link us to this not being the air raid.

Slinger seems like he’d be a good yoga coach

Not really. I'm not sure he calls it an air raid anymore. I think he uses the word concepts.
The air raid is an antiquated term, many spread offenses that pass 69/40 could be called this

Ok but that wasn’t a league wide thing. The John Riggins Redskins ran the “Air Coryell” offense, Joe Gibbs, who was Coryells OC just decided to use his dominant Oline and RB as the backbone instead of the passing game but the schematics of the offense was identical. The entire league didn’t copy this it wasn’t a fad. The Giants under Parcells we’re running the “Perkins-Earhart” offense created by the coach Parcells replaced, the 49ers were running their “West Coast” offense. The “Run and Shoot” didn’t come into the league until the 90s and only 3 teams ran it, (Oilers, Falcons, Lions). It is a spread style offense but is a lot different than the “Air Aid”. The original Run and Shoot is mostly under center is 99% of the time a 4 wide 1 back set and relies on much more downfield route combos. Most other spread offenses use more multiple personal with H-backs, tight ends and fullbacks.

He still uses the same route concept and same air raid philosophy with a tad more emphasis on rb. That in it of itself doesnt make it a different offensive philosophy. Even a football deity like myself has been wrong before.
Like when i thought there was no way anyone would say troy was more talented than lsu in 2017. See even im wrong on occasion.

Nope. There is a difference between smash mouth, spread option/, air raid, and the prostyle option.
I can list them if you need me to.

So are you going to provide any evidence or proof of your theory?

Im 100% sure we could post a video of Mike Leach saying," Hey Rodger from TD, i still run the air raid version of the spread.' And rodger would say," no you dont. Your production fluctuated from year to year so that means you arent running the same offense".

Ask Chris Peterson. The Huskies grounded that Air Raid pretty easily in the Apple Cup in Pulman this past season... just sayin.

That isn’t evidence that’s a play and a set that he ran in 1999 when he was the OC at Oklahoma so it’s not new.

In this video at the very beginning he said and I quote “we never make wholesale changes to the offense”

So because someone had success against it means he changed his offenses? Lol I just posted a video of him saying he’s never changed his offense, I’ve posted comparisons between all his offenses that are basically identical, nobody has posted a shred of evidence to the contrary, WTF is wrong with you ppl?

He did, this year. The only statics we're throwing percentage and single back sets.
They did a great job of ball control
Posted on 1/24/19 at 8:01 pm to Madking
I read that and it doesnt say anything really. Just talks about his ideas of balance.
We already know he throws a lot
We already know he throws a lot

Dude get over it.
You made a dumb point.
You got smashed.
Now you’re disagreeinng with Mike Leach about the nature of his own offense because you can’t admit that “ball control offense” is a useless term if it just mean TOP and that NFL teams are using Air Raid concepts.

He literally threw the same amount of times this season as he did his very first year at Texas tech.
2000 Texas Tech- 51.1 passes per game
2018 Wazu- 51.5 passes per game
