He may move to gaurd but id chill out some, the dude played in all of the preseason games and all of the regular season games, then all of the playoff games now the superbowl. That is a lot of football for a rookie. I do agree tho that his arm length is getting him beat a lot

Here is every rep. If his knee is hurting, he doesn’t ever favor it.

That video is unreal. He just gets absolutely manhandled every play. If I was a QB I would be terrified if he moved to guard. They will push his straight arse backwards into your pocket

He transferred away from LSU because he couldn't beat out Campbell.

Yea, blame his college coach for his short arms. Some of you guys are pathetic.

Every coach from LSU's offensive staff has been hired by someone else.

Everyone except Brad Davis, that is.

It’s much easier to play in space & hold ground

I feel like a visual is needed maybe. Idk

Partly true. But younger players rarely beat out talented incumbents. It’s not an indictment on Heard. They can both be good. If you want to go on record with other idiots that Heard isn’t good, I’ll be happy to add you

I understand the concept of why guard is easier. But frick man they don’t even put moves on Campbell half the time. They just blow straight through his chest . I’m not sure he can hold ground in a phone booth in the nfl

Yeah, I get it. At the end of the day I think he’d be fine at Guard or center. But being on an island just exacerbates the issues.

Just don’t buy the idea that he is as big and strong as other successful lineman….the old “eye test”

LINK

When he is 27 years old, stronger and more experienced he will be good because he’ll put in the work. I hope!

And he transferred to Kentucky because Tennessee wanted to move him to RT

He was clearly a "target" for the Seahawks. If Campbell doesn't get better, he'll be out of the league in two years.

So? There’s been tons of people with all these and not live up to the hype. Just bc a bunch of clowns in the media think you’re great doesn’t mean you are.

I'm not just talking about media driven awards. I'm also talking about PFF numbers, draft position, etc.

He played terrible tonight and got his shite pushed in. You sunshine pumpers aren’t going to spontaneously combust or something for admitting that. You’ll be ok I promise.

Or I can acknowledge that he is 2 months off of a grade 3 MCL sprain and that likely limited him, especially considering how bad he's been since the injury. Pretty simple.

It is a technique issue. He seemed to do very well in the zone schemes last night but struggled from the 1 technique when Seatle would bring 5. His first kickout step is always short, a technique issue not short arms. They can coach this out. He will be all pro in 2 years. Not worried at all. His QB didn't help him at all last night by not accounting for the schemes. Great coaching and film job by Seatle. Their DC will be a head coach at the end of next season.

I noticed:

1. He did not give up 14 pressures
2. He (like he always has) let's DL get into his chest first and tried to hold ground, but lacks the foundation to do so at the moment (is that because of arms? or the MCL? who knows).
3. Their offensive line as a whole played like absolute shite.
4. He was bull rushed almost every rep. Seems like the right strategy against a guy with a fricked up knee.

He is a dang rookie, he will grow and become better because of it. I love it when someone is setting at home eating chips criticizing a professional football ball player making millions of bucks. He is there you are not bottom line.......Get a freaking life.

Or he’s just not as great as he’s been made out to be. That’s also a very possible scenario.

He wasn’t even that great at LSU. Yeah he hardly gave up any sacks but he couldn’t run block for shite and was constantly getting penalized. He was decent for us but I never understood the AA hype around him.

Doubt his knee is fully healed but he really needs to develop lower body strength or he isn't going to beat any of the better DL's, his arm length isn't exactly helping him nor getting any real help from the LG. Watching the Rams/Seahawks 2 weeks ago, no team is going to beat down the DL of the Seahawks with any regularity. Seahawks looked much more ready to play yesterday than the Pats, which PO'd me as I was pulling for the Broncos to reach the Super Bowl.

In the one metric we are able to use to evaluate offensive lineman from a statistical standpoint, Will Campbell was considered a good NFL offensive lineman before his injury.

I'm not talking about Hunt Palmer throwing him an All American vote from the 104.5 studio.

But this just isn't true. He is a better pass blocker, but at no point was he a poor run blocker. In fact, he was a very, very good run blocker in 2023.

He was penalized 1 time as a true freshman. He was penalized 5 times as a sophomore, and then he was penalized 9 times as a junior. Far too much, but all but 1 of those 15 career penalties were false starts. He had one hold in his entire career, and that was in his sophomore year.

Will Anderson got him once in college. Once. Anderson is the best defensive player in the league.
Campbell is a rookie. Let him learn his job.
