everyone was dealt the same hand in 2020. He picked a bad DC and then picked another bad DC and another bad OC.

Yes. With Underwood, a powerful O line and LSUs skill we should be really good. They are rebuilding the D and hopefully it's a quick fix. The D line recruiting is looking good to fix our biggest need. He knows what he's doing. He's the head of a powerful national corporation.

Of course he can, but the planets must align.

This is so true. Very rarely is there a team so dominant that it doesn’t need a lucky bounce, call, tackle, run, block, catch or kick to get there. ‘The planets must align’.

I think he will. But he will have to get the entire team operating like we assume the offense will be. Last year a top 50 defense wins us a national title. I am certain of it.

ut his main issue has been getting the correct read on his team. Season opening flops when he admittedly thought his team was more prepared are worrisome.

I can agree with this to some extent. But more for me - irst year Special Teams was a disaster - maybe cost us that first game, second year defense. We can't have any more disasters. If it took two years to gauge the culture, and get the staff in here to maximize that, well fine then. LFG, but we can't have another disaster with a major phase of the team again.

I believe he will. Sabans title, Les' title and Os title all came on the backs of an elite LA class. 26 is set up as that class. Even if Stewart reclassifies. I personally believe Lamar Brown to be the better prospect. He's got his qb, skill weapons and OL set. The young defensive talent on the roster, in the 25 and 26 classes should make that side formidable again. Assuming we don't miss out on them in this new world of recruiting.

He could have won one last year with a decent defense.

Definitely not this year.

The defense will be troublesome.

Baker will get it figured out in the next 2 years.

I'd love to hear from the people who believe lsu can win it all this year.

How?
Just look at dt, cb, and safety

Agree 100%.

Can he? Yes. Will he? Who knows, but I think his chances are better with us than he had at Notre Dame.

If they don’t get regulations on NIL in the next couple of seasons, no, he won’t win a championship.

If he can take ND to a title game then he can win one at LSU. It’s just a matter of whether the university and our idiotic fan base will be patient enough

Without NIL I would say yes. But in today’s world, probably not.

Suppose he does win, would LSU be the only school with titles from 4 consecutive coaches?

Candidly, his lack of respect for what it took in the SEC was alarming. But he seems to have righted the ship with his recent hires.

Can his NIL model work? If it does, he will win a Natty before his contract is up imo.
