There is no debate, you go with the personnel that give you the best chance to win.
There is an ongoing myth on this board that BK doesn’t do this and plays upper classmen over better freshman to the detriment of the team, despite overwhelming evidence that this isn’t the case.
Will Campbell, Emery Jones, Perkins, Mason Taylor, Maason Smith, Caden Durham etc all played starter snaps as true freshmen.
I think BK is like almost every coach I’ve ever spoken to. He can accept physical errors but doesn’t want mental errors. And that’s what you see more frequently with younger players. While they may have more physical talent, the fact that they are still learning the scheme and their assignments as well as how to communicate on the field limits what the coaches can ask them to do.
So in some cases you have to play the more experienced, more knowledgeable player until the younger more talented one catches up mentally. And BK has done this.
The most physically gifted player in the world won’t help you win if he has no idea what he’s supposed to do on the field. The SEC isn’t like HS ball where you can just put the best athlete anywhere in the field and he will beat the other inferior team.

Pickett will start. He'll be as good, though I think even better than Stingley.
It's crazy to think his ceiling may be higher than stingley. Stingley was great but DJ is even faster and longer. If his technique as close to as refined as freshmen stingley we have an absolute monster on our hands

Entire premise of the topic is flawed.
First off, the narrative that BK doesn’t play freshmen is simply false. It’s a made up construct of tRant that has no footing in reality.
Second, how many positions are we even really talking about? Davhon Keys is not an “inexperienced” player. He started 4 games last year. If anything he’s equally or more experienced than Whit Weeks was going into 2024. Guys like Deshawn Spears are in a similar boat.
What you’re really asking is whether DJ Pickett will be a day 1 starter. I don’t think anyone can answer that with a ton of confidence. He certainly fits the profile but it’s all going to depend on how he performs in fall camp. I do think he’ll probably get a decent number of snaps even if he doesn’t start.

Some people on this board just don’t like BK.They didn’t like the hire and will never accept him no matter what. They will criticize everything he does.It doesn’t matter that he’s won 29 games in 3years after taking on a dumpster fire. All they want to do is say I told you so.They are pathetic and don’t deserve to be called Tiger Fans.

In week 1 with a game at near top-ranked Clemson, you go with experience and sprinkle in upside when you get the chance. It'll take both to win. If you're asking about freshmen, most won't play much, if at all

I actually like stamps at safety but he will play corner.
Delane, Pickett, stamps.
Delane, Pickett, stamps.

How much more evidence to the contrary do you need before you admit this is a false narrative?
Multiple examples are cited in this very thread.
It’s fine if you don’t like BK. It’s fine if you are secretly hoping he fails so you can pat yourself on the back and come to this board and brag about being right all along.
But the there are so many example showing he’s not afraid to start young players over more experienced ones the fact that you deny it shows you don’t care about reality, just pushing an agenda.

Idk... but the facts are he's 0-3 in openers and has looked completely unprepared.
So the theory of rolling with experience over upside in Week 1 hasn't proved a damn thing.

For example : in the CB room imo stamps and Pickett (and Jackson ) are battling for the CB spot across for dehlane.
Start Pickett over Stamps. He's been here since January. He'll be fine.
