I'd say that oddsmaker, based on the article's sampling of his logic, needs to prepare for a career change.

Vegas doesn't care who wins. They want enough bets placed on each team so they make money regardless of the outcome.

This article suggests to me that a lot of people have started to lay money on LSU and Vegas is trying to have money bet on Alabama.

When I can start making money betting on who has better stats, let me know.

This guy's entire analysis is based on a falsehood: more yards = better performace. Look at the Sugar Bowl: Michigan won by capitalizing on VT's mistakes and by NOT allowing VT to score touchdowns in the red zone in the 1st half. Defense and special teams are part of the game, too.

Bama may have the better offense, but LSU's defense had a second gear that Bama's seemed to lack especially as the game wore on.

One thing his analysis fails to consider is the ability of the LSU's defense and special teams to create a shorter field for the LSU offense, thus REDUCING the number of yards LSU's offense needs to go to score. If you add back the blocked punt return and Mo's interception return yardage into our offensive production in the first game, the yardage statistics are virtually even.

I’m a Michigan alum and it’s real easy for me to say Virginia Tech beat Michigan in the Sugar Bowl.”

The Hokies didn’t, actually. The Wolverines won 23-20 on a field goal in overtime, despite being outgained by Virginia Tech (377 yards to 184) and eking out 12 first downs to the Hokies’ 22. But Patterson’s point is the same: In both games, the better team lost.

Denial is strong with this one.

I get it now.. More yards = better team

Despite the other two phases of the game.

Second, Patterson says, Alabama’s Nick Saban is a better coach than LSU’s Les Miles (even though Miles is 3-2 against Saban). Third, in the parallel universe of Vegas oddsmaking, Alabama actually won its game against the Tigers. You see, oddsmakers keep meticulous ratings of each team, and Alabama has led Patterson’s all year.

Are we SURE this guy is not a Bama alum?

Wow!

I hope people can afford to lose money on that weak anaylsis.

Pretty weak arguments in my humble opinion…

I think they are forgetting the first game was in T-town
2nd, Les Miles is 3-2 against Nick Saban…time to stop the “the Bama staff is better” argument. I’m sure Nick can out x and o Les one on one, but Miles can motivate a team better and has great coaches.
LSU threw two pics in the first half and Alabama still could not score a TD.
We dropped a TD in the first half that led to a field goal. LSU penetrated Alabama’s red zone several times…Alabama failed to get inside LSU’s 20 the entire game..including overtime from the 30

JJ hadn’t played all year and goes into the game after JL has the deer in the headlights look. JJ has started 5 games now and is back to his form and always plays well in bowl games.

I know I am a homer, but Alabama’s offense isn’t better…

I’m going to predict that LSU will rush for 200 Monday night…

We outrushed Alabama 144 -96 in T town!

Haters going to hate
