Why the frick does the court even need a name?

Am I the only I that thinks this rush to name the court/field after someone is stupid?
Make it stop not everyone deserves something named after themselves

It’s dumb I agree. Neither are deserving of having the court named for them imo.

It’s not even about not deserving. Naming the field after Skip Bertman was dumb also. Is a statue not enough these days?

I agree the whole concept is pretty absurd. Is anyone really going to call it anything other than the PMAC in most situations? Cameron Indoor is still just that, even though the court is named after Coach K. It’s a meaningless gesture that isn’t worth fretting over either way.

I don’t agree at all here. It should be an almost unattainable honor reserved for the absolute elite of the elite coaches. Bertman fits that description.

All I know is CJ should at least get a basket. Maybe not the whole backboard and stuff. We could save those for someone - but at least the rim.

It should not be named after any coach we’ve had. They haven’t been successful enough to earn that honor.
