Why are they waiting til September 26? I thought the whole idea of conference only was to provide more open dates and wiggle room in case of positive tests?

Hopefully our numbers will be down 2 months from now and we'll still get 2 bye weeks.

More time for them to plan for protocols with Covid. Hopefully coming up with a way for more fans to be in the stands.

Hadn't heard that reasoning before. Thought the argument was that conferences can control their league members.

I honestly don't mind that.

I can do without two games in that awful September heat

I am amazed that before the summer it was widely said the heat would kill off the virus. Instead we have been fed a steady diet of the virus is thriving.

Well there were also plenty of people saying this wasn't true and the virus was already thriving in places that were experiencing warm weather.

I'm ok with it. I prefer colder weather for football games.

Let the NFL go first and we can possibly learn some lessons from any problems they may encounter.

Might be holding out hope to actually have some fans in the stands is the only reason I can think of.

In 1958 our first game was 9/20

26th isn’t so bad. You don’t need to kickoff in August..
