B/c we still had a lead. I liked bringing in Veitmeier after Peterson. He’s pitched well lately. He just couldn’t get it done today. Good thing is that everyone out of the pen besides Peterson is available tomorrow. Would’ve been great to win but we are still in good shape for the next hopefully 2 games.

Don’t forget the moon shoot Hilliard have up against Stoney Brook. Fontenot, Hess, and Peterson (minus his outstanding outing today) have all had control issues lately.

Really. Bet you were thinking that when they took Peterson out!

Fontenot has turned into a major liability.

Viet was fine had Dunn not called 17 straight fastballs.

I think if you use Hilliard he’s burnt for the weekend, and with Henry’s short outing, he’s one of 2 long relief guys with Marceaux

yes bring hilliard in then hess in the 9th. the coach we have doesn’t know best. you trying to save pitchers to win in two now we are screwed. paul has to go and y’all can down vote this post but it is the truth. 4-1 lead and we lose. we win if hilliard pitches after peterson.

Who had the better outing in the regional Vit or Hilliard. Vit came through against USM easy to see why PM went with him it wasn’t wrong.

Agreed. Plus, is it me or is Dunn the worst 0-2 count pitch caller in college baseball?

Pitchers didn’t execute well ahead in the count lots of 0-2 counts ended up 3-2 or 2-2 due to pitches not even close to the zone.

Peterson should’ve never been taken out right there.

Hilliard has a double digit ERA in the last two months. So yeah, that's smart..

No way of knowing that for sure. As far as the 17 fastballs, they didn’t want to walk him. The batter won that battle. Move on to tomorrow.

I thought you go with Beck because he would have not only been a change of pace, but it was blowing in and he is a change up pitcher. He is toughest on lefties. The mistake was not pulling Peterson after the 6th.

Henry is done, per CPM.

That part of the lineup, Hilliard’s stuff would cut right into their swing. Fontenot should have been ready to go. We were a step behind. We needed to make a move when we did, but the guy with the stuff we needed for that part of the lineup was not ready. Actually, probably should have had Hess and Fontenot ready. Gone Fontenot and sign of trouble, put in Hess to protect the lead.
