they used to rattle his cage to make him growl at the other team.

And probably stressing him the frick out. We really have not only the best assholes, but the dumbest.

And FYI, the thing that made Mike roar was seeing the costumed Mike. The cheerleaders would form a wall around him until the mic was on, then costumed Mike would pop out, and real Mike hated him.

You shouldn’t be so hard on yourself.

could probably roll a dog around in the cage and most of the stadium wouldn't know any better

and at least we don't have this pathetic train wreck walking around

Memphis has a Tiger in a cage that they drive around the field before games still to this day. I never understood why we gave in and stopped

No, they don't. They stopped doing that after their last tiger died. The current one they have lives at the Memphis Zoo and does not attend games.

LSU stopped letting Mike VI go to Tiger Stadium and he died of cancer.

Mike V went in the stadium every game and lived longer.

The vast majority of those rednecks at that concert clamoring for that worn out song never step foot in Tiger Stadium.

It's cool to see him in the cage roaring, but Mike was the ONLY large predatory animal that used to go to games. All big cats have extremely good hearing and vision. The stadium was sensory overload for those guys. Imagine putting an 80 year old man in front of speakers at a heavy metal concert. It would literally give the guy a heart attack.

There was literally a tiger that went into that stadium many, many, many, many times, and it lived longer that the one that didn't. Your point is irrelevant

Yep, it used to be cool. So was smoking cigarettes, barfights and driving after a few drinks. It's crazy how some people seem to outgrow foolish antiquated ideas and others stupidly cling to them.

we arent woke. We just think treating scared animals poorly is stupid. Ever seen a cat and a dog in the same house. Loud noises make them act different. It really is common sense as to why some animals its more normal than other.

OP is absolutely right. If you grew up with Mike in the stadium you’d understand, unless you’re a pansy.

It’s just another aspect of the pile of manure that is western civilization this past decade or so.

Wokeism, climate hysteria, cancel culture, big tech, surveillance state… and it’s poisoned college sports - this issue, NIL, targeting ejections, and immediate transfers are all part of the same soft faux-compassionate culture.

You know it’s bad when I’m not even 30 and can see how much better we had it in the late 90s and 00s.

Are you my BIL? This sounds like one of the harangues he corners me with at family gatherings.

Those are all still just part of being a young man. Hell or a tough broad.

And no Jim I’m not banging your sister.
