Why LSU will stay on top of the SEC in football

1.Recruits- may surpass Clemson as the top class in 2020 ( or a close #2) so the talent will be there. Bama is currently#3
2.Coaching- Coach O is not going anywhere and not demanding top $$ so we have the funds to pay Aranda and Brady ( who will be named OC at some point)--these guys will be there for the long haul--Saban on the other hand is 68 and I believe he has to be considering retirement (Cowherd has a great piece on this)
3.Money--the LSU fan base, TAF, and deep pocket donors are very resourceful- which leads to more money pouring into the program- which leads to the best facilities and game day experience- and of course that all circles back to helping to recruit the best talent to come to LSU.
4. Bama fatigue- the rest of the country is tired of Bama and would love for LSU to take over the top SEC spot. I think people in general just love our culture and good ole boy demeanor better than Bama's arrogance. I also believe they are tired of seeing Bama getting into the playoffs every year like it is some sort of right.
All in all , this is just all my opinion, but I really think because of the reasons mentioned above that LSU is poised to make a long run as top dog not just in the SEC West, not just in the SEC, but nationally in a way that we have not been in years past.
How sweet would it be to go on a long run of playoffs and championships? Now that we have opened up the offense we are now on an even playing field with Bama, Clemson, OSU, UGA, etc.
What a great time to be a Tiger!

It would take a whole lot to pass Clemson. Their class is ridiculous. But we should finish ahead of Bama for #1 in the SEC.

I actually think we are pretty bad at this.. A&M has some serious money.

I bet a similar post was made around 2008 - 2009.
It always takes effort to stay on top. Recruiting effort, fundraising effort, coaching and practicing effort. There are several teams in this conference willing to put in that effort.

I believe LSU is at bottom half of SEC in alumni donations!

A&M would be my guess for number one spot in SEC. I wonder if LSU is even top 4? Seems like UGA, Alabama and Florida would be top 3 along with A&M.

Clemson still has several guys on the radar which will likely put them past us if they sign. That’s fine.
We need to keep our verbals on track and get a few more guys and we’re golden.
Just hope O keeps it between the navigational bouys

I did not realize we were behind here, do you think Woodward will help with this trend changing? Especially if we make the playoffs this year?

While I disagree with this statement, I will say that LSU is getting better. However, our donors are nowhere near Alabama or A&M

Most people don't realize that Ed O was the main architect of the amazing recruiting classes brought in to USC when Pete Carroll was still the head coach over there.
He will consistently do the same thing over here at LSU. As he is building an LSU dynasty. I hope Joe Brady sticks around 7 more years until Ed O reaches retirement age at 65 and becomes the new head coach at LSU when Ed O retires. I mean I can't imagine any other head coaching job that is better in college football.

I agree with everything you say but don't think that if LSU won at the pace Alabama has that LSU wouldn't be hated as well.

It's true. But they have 20 commits and we have 25 (for now).

If bama fatigue was real the media would be beating the drum to leave them out of the CFP

We will have some big holes to fill especially if a lot of our juniors go pro.

Right now LSU is virtually tied with Clemson but LSU has 5 more commits and Clemson is currently projected to have 2 of their spots filled with top 10 recruits.
The effects of a season like this for LSU is usually felt in recruiting the following year so 2021 should be even better for LSU recruiting.

Thankfully the Alumni Assoc. doesn’t donate to athletics, and TAF does.
