'The most complete team I've ever seen' - Why LSU has no shot against Alabama

quote:

Here’s the bad news: LSU also has no chance to win.

quote:

“They’re physically the most complete team I’ve ever seen in my career,” said Anderson, who has coached for nearly three decades, including stops at Baylor and North Carolina. “With the quarterback playing at the highest level you can play at, they can beat your brains out in all three phases.”

quote:

“There’s individual matchups available against LSU,” said an assistant coach who has studied both carefully. “LSU is not, top-to-bottom, 11-strong like Alabama’s defense.”

quote:

“I don’t think LSU will be able to get Alabama off the field, as I think Alabama will be able to average four or five yards on first down,” the coach said. “They won’t be in third-and-12 and will be able to move the chains. That’s what I really see will be the difference in the game.”

quote:

“Who is going to get exposed is the LSU quarterback,” said an SEC assistant. “He’s not very good. He’s average. He’s a general and a game manager. They’re hyping him because they haven’t had a good quarterback in a long time. He’s going to struggle against ‘Bama. He’s not a talented enough passer to take them apart and beat them in the pass game.”

quote:

“They’ll win by three touchdowns easily,” said an opposing assistant. “One thing ‘Bama will do is score the football. I don’t know if LSU will be able to score the football.”

The media actually gave Ole Miss more of a chance than they're giving us. It's insane.

They gave Ole Miss more credit than LSU is getting.

Beat me to it.

....but they STILL have to play the game. Imagine the melt when we score late and burst their bubble!

We have a great secondary good lbs and average d line. I hate being honest.

We better show this to our players. No need for them to come out the locker room if the game has already been decided.

Well, let’s just forfeit. Frees up my Saturday to go to the County Fall Festival and enjoy pumpkin lattes and sing songs around the bonfire.

Majority of these people do not watch football. They analyze box scores and copy what other people say.

Go watch people who break down film, you will see we have some really strong talent, especially on Defense. Delpit alone has about 3-4 plays that he made purely based on pure football instinct that you just do not see at this level of football let alone the next level.

Its easy to criticize Burrow based on reading his end lines of games, but what you cant see is him making the throws he HAS to make in the 4th quarter, or lining up and drawing the defense offsides multiple times this year. All they see is his completion % and write him off.

Let them. We coming.

Nothing OP posted is wrong.. but like others have said, the game till has to be played.

Purdue beat Ohio state.. who saw that coming?

Appalachian State took penn state to overtime...

Pitt bear Clemson a few years ago...

It’s like Herm says, “ you play to win the game!’

This is laughable. I’m not saying they aren’t good, they always are and will be under Saban, but Bama’s D is not as strong as usual this season. If anything, LSU’s is actually better. We have similar numbers against significantly better competition

I don't know if I'd say the line is average

We're missing a great pass rusher but that usually comes from our LBs in this defensive scheme

Chaisson was a huge loss

Theory: these coaches and media folks are doing this specifically to be the rat poison, because they want to create bullet board material for LSU. They want us to win.
