Some people are easily entertained

Exactly I don't want to hold on to a coach because of his past accomplishments like Mack Brown and Bobby Bowden. I think two more years is a fair amount of time for Les to compete for another championship.

Texas settled into that quagmire-- look where they are now.
Auburn didn't & look where they're at now.
Didn't Auburn go 8-4 this season?

I do not want Les to be fired, but if LSU goes 9-3 or worse again next year, he will definitely feel the heat.
Should someone who wins 9 games a year be on the hot seat? Probably not. But when you get paid 4.5 mil/yr and have a clause in your contract "if I win a NC I become the highest paid coach by $1" that requires a lot of bravado, you better expect a lot of criticism to come with that.

If the players that committed early would have stayed, there would have been a major difference in the program. But, can't blame the ones who left because of the contracts they received.

Without providing the same "cupcake" list for all SEC schools, your info is meaningless.

but that was a great season until the end
13-1, 9-0 and a NR of #2 IS a great season...disappointing ending or not. When and if winning 13 games while playing in the SEC becomes less than a great season, we have truly gone full retard in our college football thought process.

I'm just posting facts
No, you are cherry picking your facts to support your opinion. Like the LSU OOC schedule or not, it is not worse than other SEC schools and in some cases better. Therefore, your "cupcake" list is meaningless as is the whole point of your post. The fact that LSU has not loss a OOC, regular season game in a decade, is an amazing performance, "cupcakes" included or not.
Wanting LSU to do better is fine. I want LSU to never lose a game. My wanting that, doesn't blind me to the fact that 103-28 overall ranks LSU in the top 3 in the nation. Which is a ranking LSU has NEVER held before for a decade of college football. Our 58-26 in the SEC ranks LSU at #2. Which is a ranking LSU has NEVER had in our history of SEC play.
Complaining bout the QB or the O or the coaching is not a problem. Never ending, continually bad mouthing of a QB or part of the LSU team or coach without noting the success which places LSU in the Top 3-5 of all 120 BCS schools for the past decade is naïve, silly and sad. imo

Season ticket/suites sales will govern; BTW, still want to know how many of our CLM lovers are such?

Yeah. Playing to a few seconds left in the National championship game last year is "same position we're in"

Auburn went 8-5 (4-4) then 3-9 (0-8) then fired their coach. That is a true decline. If LSU follows a similar path then their won't be many, if any, opposed to showing Les the door. But the situations you are comparing are not the same.

Then fired their recent National Championship coach --then a couple a years later returned to the National Championship game and was seconds from winning it.
We are 4-4 and in a tail slide since the National championship debacle and no reason to suppose we're even getting back to Atlanta anytime soon since we clearly can't beat Bama anymore..
So how long do we wait to right the ship?
Death by a thousand cuts you're still as dead as if by a couple.

They not teach you about context clues at LSU?

Not calling for his head yet. Another 8-4 season, and I'd venture to say LSU could do better.

What a loser ... didn't LSU go undefeated in 2011 and play for the NC (yes, I know the results)? By my math, that's not 7-8 years ago.

It's not a negative, but some on here are completely happy with mediocrity.
Averaging 10 wins a season is not mediocre. LSU won a title 7 years ago, and played for another 4 years later.
This is the first down year in quite some time, and EVERYONE predicted it.
Frankly I think the only reason people have such unrealistic expectations is because of what has happened since Saban arrived at Alabama. They have become our measuring stick.

I guess the answer is to lower expectations and accept being a middle of the pack SEC team.

LSU is not a middle of the pack program. That doesn't mean they won't have years like this one. They have consistently ranked amongst the top teams in the country.
Many people aren't satisfied if the Tigers aren't playing for a NC every years. Those are the unrealistic expectations I was referring to.

Is averaging 9-10 wins a season "middle of the pack" to you?

In the SEC 9 wins puts you in the middle of the pack.
