if its so easy and "middle of the pack" then that means there are about 120 shitty football teams out there

This. Outside of Bama everyone else must be middle of the pack as well

The mention of auburn is probably due to their ability to reload and make another title run so quickly...nothing more....something we cant seem to do.

Wait, what? We played in NC in 07 and 11 incase you forgot...after 2 subpar years in 08 and 09

And nobody with an ounce of sense is holding their breath waiting for this to happen. What we need if for Les to do his fking job and get the QB situation fixed...period.

Its been said before...at a school of LSU's status....there should never ever ever be a drop off in QB play of the likes we saw this year...did I say EVER! That is completely on the coaches and is completely inexcusable. Blame it on Perilloux all you want but that's not gonna hold water upon further inspectio

I agree

I am interested to see what those numbers are like if you go from 2012 to 2014. the career win numbers are nice, but as others have said, this is a "what have you done for me lately?" world and for now all people will remember is that even though les doesn't lose very often, he had arguably the 3 worst losses of his career in a 6 week span.
@ auburn - les' biggest margin of defeat
vs bama - letting a 3 point lead slip away with less than a minute to go
@ arkansas - getting shut out for the first time *in the regular season*

I completely agree with you. The way I look at it is, if my kid makes a B in a class/course, am I being negative if I want him to try harder for an A. That's the way I look at our football team, I think they, the coaches, can do better....

Look, there's just one kid in class that is way smarter than your kid. The class unfortunately is graded on a curve, and your kid is one of the smartest ones but will always be 2 or 3. Only one kid can get the A. Sorry.

The problem is that there is a vocal minority on this board that wants your kid kicked out of school for making a B.

'I'm not interested in things that prove Les Miles has done an elite job at LSU both in comparisons to the SEC and to the nation as a whole. I'm more interested in 3 games that support my predetermined conclusion.'

Sweet retort, although I failed to see the part of it that said my assessment was incorrect. Whether you like it or not this is a short term memory world and fans, and more importantly 17 year olds , do not care what you did 5-10 years ago.

The stubbornness of Les has really caused the program to become stagnant.

I almost agree but I fear that our program is content more than stagnant. I hate to mention the gumps again but I can't think of a better example. Saban hiring Lane was a complete shock. I couldn't believe that he did it. Looking back, Saban made a decision to turn the offense over to a guy that actually knows more than he does about play calling and offensive schemes. Look how that turned out.

The stubbornness of Les has many people questioning if he has it in him to put the team before himself. I have a hard time believing that Cam made the majority of the offensive decisions. We knew that we had a good OL and RB's. The key personnel questions were all centered on the passing game. We had a window of opportunity (9.6, 9.13, & 9.27) to emphasize the passing development of one or both QB's but someone chose not to.

Les is good at finding and retaining good assistant coaches. He should let them do what they do best. I don't think that we've seen an offense which is completely controlled by Cam. I'd like to see that.

Les should make the "coin flip" decisions like going for it on 4th and less than 1 on the opponents 35. Fake punts and kicks should be Les decisions. He's got the balls for that stuff. Timeo...never mind, we actually need another coach designated as the "timeout guy". He's also a good representative of our school as far as his integrity, character, morality, etc. I'd say that I wish he'd work on his presentation skills but I've gotten used to his goofiness and bad use of grammar.

What is it with all of you smart asses? I went ahead a did a bit of research for your lazy arse. Here is a head start for you...

In American football, Air Coryell is the name given to the offensive scheme and philosophy developed by former San Diego Chargers coach Don Coryell. Besides the term "Air Coryell", the offensive philosophy developed by Coryell has been called the "Coryell offense" or the "vertical offense".

Today the most famous and successful advocates of this system are Cam Cameron, Norv Turner, Mike Martz, Tom Moore and Al Saunders.

Here is the question for you genius...Does anything about Les Miles' 10 year history at LSU make you immediately think of "vertical passing"? I'm thinking...

So you didn't know it, don't understand Coryell, Turner, Cameron....yet are sure we aren't seeing his offense,!

Carry on

and after giving it some thought, I'd say that most people would think of "3 yards and a cloud of dust"...when thinking about Miles offensive philosophy. Nothing really wrong with that but I don't think it's the recipe for consistent "NC Playoff" type success. And just to be clear, I'm not expecting LSU to be in a NC Playoff every 4th year.

You are one ignorant MFer. I knew that Cam wasn't a pound it till the helmet breaks kind of guy. Your response gave me reason to look into his actual offensive philosophy. It wasn't very hard for me to find but I didn't want to overestimate your intelligence.

Yes, I am sure that we are not seeing 100% of Cam's offense. If you had a brain, you could easily come to the same conclusion. I would tell you to drill down a bit and actually look into Cam's offenses and the (yardage) balance over the years. You seem pretty lazy so I won't bother.

when Cameron was with the Chargers he threw it under 30 times a game for an entire season and usually threw it around 31 times, he threw it less than 30 times a game in his career at Baltimore.

People have a basic misunderstanding of not only football, but philosophy. They think he flings it around the yard. He doesn't. Every team he leaves throws it significantly more after his departure.

I'm thinking.............
