re: Why is there suddenly an argument over a hypothetical 9-3 football record in 2019?

You say that but you never know how a season will unfold. Think back to last season. No one knew until the end of the season that Brennan was hurt and they were hiding it for obvious reasons. What if Burrow had went down with a season ending injury early in the season. We would had a walk-on starting at QB or maybe a Wr or DB? This is why I don't live in the world of absolutes. You just never know what might happen.
Every team gets injuries. No one's trying to hear that.
Champions win in spite of injury, not because they have the healthiest team.

Clemson just wrecked shite and embarrassed Bama with a true freshman QB.
If Miles could have just done that ONE TIME...................

Miles is gone, friendo. Why can’t O do it?

Haven’t had enough embarrassment for one day? You’ve gotten thoroughly owned today, but maybe you want to regale us with more tales of how the 2016 class didn’t have any talent.

I think O has.... Burrow will be a better QB than Miles ever had the last 4 years... Mett is an exception...... After Flynn[with Crowton] the QB position at LSU has been garbage............under Miles.............

My expectations are 11-1 and a CFB playoff season.
A 9-3 record meant something went wrong. However, my mind is supple enough to realize that the reason could be along a continuum from bad coaching to a ridiculous amount of unfortunate injuries.
This notion that in May we are to decide a record which means whether or not the coach should be deified or fired is downright retarded.
I am heartened by the fact that 365 days ago we were told we were in the "decline" and would finish 5th in the West and now we're a top 10 national team with a realistic shot at the CFB playoffs. Both of these opinions are not worth shite (particularly the one already proven to be wrong) but I'll take it nevertheless.

Eh, with respect, I disagree.
Clemson last year was relatively healthy. Lawrence got hurt v. Syracuse and they almost lost. Fortunately for them they play in the ACC so they could have survived that loss.
Bama in 2017 was also very healthy except at linebacker.
Clemson in 2016 went wire to wire with few injuries.
Look, if Burrow goes down, all bets are off. If a bunch of offensive lineman go down, all bets are off.
Injuries absolutely do matter and to say otherwise is to just be that "no excuses" guy who just wants a different coach.

I never said that the 2016 class had no talent. You embarrass yourself with almost every post. Not to mention you're a liar. You should probably consider a break from posting.

Agreed,,, BUT its ALL about making sure the next guy in line is ready.. no matter the position...............

It’s a matter of simple math at this point. With the CFP (which we’ve not sniffed yet) in play, teams are going 14-1, 15-0 every year.
14-15 wins. Sorry if I happen to think 9 or even 10 is not that impressive anymore. It’s not 40 years ago, the game has changed.

I AGREE with the amount of talent LSU has brought in the last 7-8 years.............

Losing to Tex, fla, and old miss would really suck.
Beating Bama would probably make up for it.

That Coach O and his team go out there and give it their best shot and have fun while they're doing it!
What a classic troll line, and got me to bite on it for sure.
This is NOT Little League. O and staff are paid MULTI-millions to deliver Championship results. They are more than paid entertainers for ‘fun.’

HEY! 40 years ago they only played 10 games...so that would be a perfect season
So guess you RIGHT! Game has changed!

Major injuries , teams being unexpectingly talented. Miracle endings. Some forget this is the SEC.
No. At some point a superior coaching staff, a superior roster imposes its will over the competition.
If perfect conditions are needed for us to succeed then we're not an elite program.
