Perhaps he will. I personally believe he should be given a chance to show what he can do for LSU, and it sure as hell isn't 2/3rds into his first year here and being handcuffed with Chavis's piss poor recruiting.

Because Leslie handed him two chicken wings and a teaspoon of flour and told him to make us a big ole gumbo.

Isn't part the TOP problem LSU's defense not being able to stop drives especially on 3rd down which in turn gives the LSU offense less possessions?

I mean the offense stunk against BAMA no question but the defense hasn't been good all year either.

Our defense is bad at tackling and forcing turnovers

I agree.

I haven't rewatched the game, but missed tackles looked more important than scheme.

Seemed like players were in place to limit gains, just failed to do so.

I agree. He has gotten a pass this year and so has Peveto it seems. The defensive backfield has not played well, the defensive sacks and pressure is up but it has not resulted in turnovers. There are 4 players that were recruited that were expected to be significant forces on the dline and at linebacker that never played a down at LSU.

Trey Lealaimatafao 3* DT
Clifton Garrett (5* recruit LB) couldn't get on the field
Maquedious Bain 4*DT
Trevonte Valentine 4*DT

There has also been no contribution from Deondre Clark (4*) DE from Oklahoma City who was the number 1 player in OK when he was recruited. And I think it hurt the defense quite a bit when Rashard Robinson (4*)CB got himself kicked off the team. Our corners this year are supposed to be White and Robinson. All 4 of the guys listed are big boys that were supposed to be in this dline rotation. Maybe Clark comes around next year but I expected him to be a big Defensive End presence on this team. Think of how those players effected the ranking of those recruiting classes and how after the fact they have hurt the defense by not contributing at all. Except for Robinson when he was here. And Quinton Thomas who was supposed to be in the Dline rotation has been hurt his whole senior year I believe.

I agree, the defense looked a hell of alot better last year. Talk about sacks all you want. This years defense has not held anyone to under 21 points all year.

Better hold Arky to under 21 or could be some problems come Saturday.

The defense was on the field for 40 minutes.

Steele's defense looked bad against the run. I get it TOP was bad, but how many times did Chavis' D have to deal with that. A lot of attention given to our inept offense, which has been the norm in this game, but nobody is talking about how the D was gashed, especially on the last 9 minute drive.

Do you really think our front 7 are all SEC caliber players? We have 2 or maybe 3 guys that will play at the next level. When we get the players in here and still give up big yardage then you can talk about Steele.

In comparison damn near all of Bama's front 7 and a lot of their back ups will be NFL players.

I'll add that most of this is Chavis's fault! If he was still here fans would want him ran out of town by now. What we have left on defense would not have worked very well in his scheme.

We have been extremely lucky with injuries on defense so far this year. We have no depth.

LSU needs to score at least 35 points to win IMO. Arkansas's offense is humming right now and our defense has not proven strong enough to suggest we'll shut them down.

won't be long before Steele D is fully set in place. It's inevitable. Steele will be the worst hire in the Miles era besides Peveto. It has already began.
Most of the people taking up for Steele are just protecting Miles. If you can't see it now, you are blind. Compare defensive stats from 2015 to 2014,2013,2012,2011, and 2010.

He has failed at DC at every team he has coached except Saban teams.

You are either a Bama fan or the dumbest sumbitch on this board.

It's the truth. We have one player that would even see the field at Bama, Beckwith. Key is a freshman and has his ups and downs. Neal is legit but the rest are just serviceable. How can you argue with that?

You said SEC. I think all of them would compete for time at bama.

Never seen a middle lb get blocked (road graded) for 15-20 yards like he was the other night.

Because Chavis left the cupboard bare as far as our front seven is concerned. No quality depth means tired players who miss tackles late in the game. Hard to blame a DC who is handcuffed by the recruiting failures of the previous DC. When Steele and Orgeron get their own recruits in, then we can start judging Steele as DC.

The rant does not do logic. The rant has been wanting to bust this nut all season and now they finally can. It is hard to be a good D when your offense has the crap showing that it had saturday night.

Were do you think our Dline players would rank in the SEC? Neal is the only one that would be in the top 20. They are ok players but nothing special. And to stop Bama you have to have better than ok players on your D-line.

Because the Dline doesn't require double teams the Oline is free to head hunt the LB'rs.

I don't think you understand recruiting. We can only sign 25 guys. The STAFF evaluates the recruits. CLM and the recruiting coordinator have to have a gameplan for who they want to sign and what needs they want to fill. To say that Chavis is to blame isn't really fair...if the recruiting was weak the whole staff bears responsibility.
