I don't know him that well, but from what I do know, this is probably correct.

Right.
I know Scotty. He can be direct, blunt and gruff.
I disagree with him about most everything politically.
But I respect him for what he's acheived thru the force of hard work.
He also has been very generous, particularly to LSU. And I doubt he's asked for any recognition in return.
That counts for something with me.

That's the kicker. People here are assuming he was like, "Yeah, I'll donate millions for this renovation, but I need my name right underneath "Tiger Stadium" and I need it to be backlit.
LSU probably did that on their own to honor his generosity.

It just looks bad how LSU has to slap a name on everything new.

I don't have time to check right now, but I'm pretty sure that's just the way it's designed.

I know a thing or two about lighting. want me to sneak up there one night and rig smething up on the TS portion odf the sign?
Posted on 2/19/13 at 2:21 pm to bee Rye
im good with that. you can even put a little BR after the last letter as your own personal trademark.

Maybe, maybe not. I doubt there is anything planned during the next phase but maybe they'll come back with some track lighting on the tops of the signs.

bbap,
You are not the only person who has asked questions in this thread.
I've tried to respond to some of those questions about who Moran is.
You stilkl get credit for starting the thread, ok?

To be fair, I took that picture from inside my car and my headlights were shining towards it.

Scotty Moran hates Tiger Stadium

I was with you up until here. LSU isn't in the business of insisting people put their names on things. Absent proof to the contrary, it is almost certain that the benefactor wanted the recognition. Nothing wrong with that, either. Not my personal taste, but (outside of the lighting, which is askew) it is not nearly as egregious as the large font monstrosity humourously lampooned by this photoshop:

I'm a nitwit. Not a Moran.
I'm just thankful theRick doesn't work in booster fundraising. He has no idea what he's talking about.
