Kids get drafted higher due to upside and age. Speed and extincts can't be taught. Two years from no he be could as good or better than Debo Jones.

We put Phillips in man coverage on LBs and TEs a lot and he was solid.

Queen is an absolute animal. Wouldve been Devin White good if he came back next year.

His 40 and more importantly his shuttle will be top 3 for LBs in the draft. Would not surprise me if he had the top shuttle time. Kid is explosive, can change directions on a dime and has great hips. There is a play in the Natty where Etienne goes wide in a hand off. He starts to cut up inside of the WR blocking , but Queen is there. He then jump cuts out and goes wide around the receiver. Queen dips out and returns to lateral pursuit and tackles Etienne before he can turn it up field. An amazingly athletic play for a LB. he has solid cover skills too. He will not fall past the 2nd round.

Think about it. Last season and the season before when you watched LSU Devin White jumped off the screen as a playmaker. This season Queen did the same thing (though to a lesser extent than White and without the same consistency). When a big play was made by a ILB, it was almost always Queen. Phillips, who was on the field both years, never really made many noteworthy plays. Hell, sometimes you could even forget he was out there. Now, that's not to say he wasn't a consistent player for LSU. But when NFL teams are picking in the first round or two of the draft they are looking for guys who have clearly separated themselves from the competition at the college level. Phillips is a good player with the ideal physical traits, but he wasn't necessarily a guy who stood out when you watched him play

speed killz brotha... and hes got it...

another reason he covers so well, also what the nfl covets... a LB that can cover the slot...

phillips is the proto typical mike, like a patrick Willis/Ray Lewis type old school meet you in the hole type guy

Queen had Etienne for the game and made him look pretty pedestrian and Etienne is pretty damn dynamic/elusive. His ability to make the plays he made (behind the LOS) were impressive. Phillips is a tackle machine but most aren't eye popping plays behind the LOS, Queen's speed and coverage skills are going to make him a hot commodity.

Queen may be faster than the average ILB but I still wouldn't trust him in man coverage on most slot WRs in the NFL. And if converted RBs like Devin White and Queen are the new highly coveted LB prospect why don't we just turn every big RB into a LB?

Speed, speed, speed and speed.

Queen may be the fastest LB in the combine.
