re: Why is our Spring Game attendance so low?

It's a glorified practice that is pointless. LSU had a bunch of other things going on around campus as well. With the basketball team being in the tournament and going to the sweet 16 spring practice has been on the backburner.
You ever been to a spring game? What do you get out of it?

spring game attendance in the mid 90s
LSU football sucked in the regular season back then. Spring football meant that at least one LSU squad would come out a winner.

Not to mention, if they don't have a half time, a lit of people wouldn't know when to leave.

They are boring and it's on tv
Some schools draw big crowds but LSU never has and never will
You can go fishing and hangout at the camp
Go to NEW ORLEANS
Have a crawfish boil with friends
Or just chill at home and grill and drink
All much more exciting than going to the spring game
Also the players don't seem excited to be there...so why go

The Spring game isn't really that big of a deal.
I've been twice and that's only because I was a student and already in town. I didn't even go the other three years I was in school.

Well there was a baseball game going on at the same time and the Spring Game doesn’t mean anything

I think LSU fans understand its a very boring spring game. Some schools have fans that are in general very sad people and have nothing else to fill their life with (see rural schools in south).

Baseball was going on at the same time probably had some impact but honestly who cares it’s the spring game

People are more concerned about crawfish boil attendance in April than spring game attendance. It is that simple.

Well, the coach told us before the practice that the offense was not showing up, so why should we?

Is spring game attendance a good indicator of interest and hype around the program?

Seems like other teams have way better attendance than we d
What else is there to do at this time of year for fans of other teams?
Here in Louisiana we have a plethora of things to do in the spring. LSU Baseball, crawfish boils, festivals and etc. What is there to do in, say, gumpland at this time of year? Not nearly as much as there is to do in Louisiana. They live and die by their football program.

We have the highest Baseball attendance in the NCAA by far. We sell out big time football games with over 100,000 people. Unfortunately regular game attendance has been going down as the product has suffered and more options to watch on tv become available. Even 10 years ago the spring game wasn't that big of deal, so I don't think the attendance numbers mean much since the game doesn't really mean anything.

actually the day before LSU moved the Sunday baseball game up to Saturday because there was no chance of rain.
