sure thing man, you’re not addicted at all. The “weed has no negative side effects people” are the most annoying people on the planet, it’s objectively psychologically bad for you and 99% of the people that I know who do it chronically are losers and can’t function without it even at family dinners, holidays, etc. It’s almost like I used to smoke too much and can clearly see how negatively it affected my life, and the people I was surrounded by, in hindsight....? Maybe you’ll give it a break for more than 2 days at some point and understand that it’s causing you to be depressed, anxious, and generally a shell of what you could be as a person.

Friend of mine used to say “a junkie is a junkie”. What you wrote is just as true for any addiction. Not everyone who used to smoke has to be a born-again virgin about it.
You being mentally unhealthy wasn’t a side-effect of weed. You were already there when you rationalized being inebriated all the time. Fill in the the blank with whatever coping substance/mechanism you’d like.
