Burrow lost the starting job to a band injury. Howard wouldn’t have had a shot to start and threw his sucker in the dirt. Those two things are not the same.

Yeah. I was under the impression that he and his family wanted him to redshirt this year anyway.
I really don't understand his decision. Maybe he has to sit for a couple years but if he's that good he would be in a legit QB competition with Nuss in 24 anyway.
That being said, I don't wish him to fail. I just really don't understand his decision here. Especially being a legacy guy and probably would have been a fan favorite once he got his chance.

Thats the weird part is what is really different today than when he signed. The staff is the same, sure Daniels is returning but Brennan was here when he signed so AT BEST he was probably expecting to battle it out with Nuss this year and now that is delayed by one year. So you burn your one time no penalty transfer on a one year delay in the plan? It doesnt add up to me unless he just totally lacks any confidence whatsoever that he can win the job from Nuss an if that the case, he belongs somwehere else.
Competing and not winning and then transferring is one thing and that makes sense....transferring before the competition even begins is weak sauce IMO.

They’re just saying it to make themselves feel better. He was the first 5* QB in Louisiana that LSU landed since Perriloux, and people want to make him out to be an absolute scrub based on four plays in a bowl game.

Its OK for the HC to go outside the sate and bring in a less talented, emergency fix, but it's not OK for a young talented kid to make a business decision.

There is no fundamental difference between their respective decisions. They both left eligibility behind at one school to better their football fortunes at another.
It can easily be argued that if you're gonna transfer, sooner is better than later for both parties.
Some school is gonna get one heckuva scout team QB.
