The improvements in coaching is there, he just simply don't have the talent yet. Y'all see the fight in this team compared to the last few years. I say by year 3 we'll be serious contenders. We will have the talent with these 4&5 stars rolling in. I wouldn't even expect next year to be all that great, I also wouldn't be surprised if we were great next year. But once we get to year 3 with a lot of players returning and knowing the system already plus the talent level basically gonna double we should be serious contenders. Our fan base is terrible when it comes to expectations

I think bc people are feeling a cumulative frustration. Spillover from uncle ed. People are tired of waiting but you're right it's unrealistic and unfair. Wade will build a really strong program. This team is just not very talented. It's what we've got this season

This is a hard nose team who I like. Of course they played bad today but whatever I don't expect to see lack of effort often. But damn they are frustrating to watch in general. They play close to the end every game just to blow it.

This team is the opposite of a hard nosed team.

Because they have showed promise and a hint of what can be, but it was fools gold with the current roster. It will be ok, it just takes time.

While not a physical bunch, they do compete and play with effort. Can't bash anyone for not doing those things

Hard not to get frustrated when we lose a lot of close games, its not warranted or fair frustration but it just tends to happen when close games are lost and the team seems like they could be better than they are

They are definitely holding themselves back. It's on Wade and Co. To get them through this tough slump. Wins will come

All these games being decided in the last minute will hopefully pay off for us in the long run. If not this year, definitely next.

Sometimes. Or take games off with lack of intensity like the last 3.

A hard nosed team fights for everything just about every game. This team has a long ways to go to be that. But they will get there at seasons end.

Most on here know very little about college basketball. We got some nice wins early and so they set expectations well above what this team is capable of achieving (i.e. They got their hopes up). The reality is the SEC is very good and we have to play very well to win any given night. Talent wise we are at or near the bottoms of the league.

Anything over 7-8 wins in the league this year would be a successful season with this team. Today was disappointing because it was a very winnable game and we simply didn't close it out.

Not every single time. This LSU team was predicted to finish dead last in the SEC. Why?? Because they are simply not that good. You've seem this team over achieve up to this point. If you are disappointed with players and/or coaches at this point, then you are a complete and total idiot.

The fact they are fighting to win games that last season they would have lost by 20 is enough to be hopeful about. This isn't a moral victory speech either.

Nobody is going to sleep on LSU anymore. They cant just show up and win. Teams will key in on Waters, and outside of that nobody is consistently good enough. That will change next year. You will not be able to take Waters away and win the game.

I don't think a lot of people want to hear it but you're right. Nobody is saying Wade needs a talent advantage to win. However, if you look at most elite teams yes they have talent advantages more games than not so to say great coaches win without great talent is not exactly true. Win to what extent?? You gotta have talent to win at a high level. If that's the expectation then be patient. If you're able to be objective about this teams ceiling then it's hard to be disappointed at what we've seen. We will win some of these and we will lose many more close ones I'm afraid.

Anyway, /rant.

We knew to expect this.

I think some of the wins changed some people’s perspective?
