Guys don't play with a presence of mind. The moment seems WAY too big for them, far too often. That's where this team needs a fire to be lit. But where's that going to come from, is the question?
Thanks for your objectivity, unlike most who have responded on this thread.
One thing I find comical however, is that when the players are in fact half assing it as you said, someone CPM catches the blame. These are grown adults who know better and it's only hurting themselves not putting forth the effort.

And that bunt single in the fifth really opened the door for what immediately followed. I have no idea why Milazzo didn't pick that up
I was honestly shocked when that happened. He had every opportunity to do so and just whiffed on it

There are 1.3 million reasons why

Because players are transitory. They will all be gone in a few years. Plus the coach is responsible for getting the players.

Is Paul the scapegoat for his players looking like they’re in tee-ball league?
He is paid to recruit players that are good enough to win, and to get them ready to play.

He is the coach. He owns this. It’s called leadership

Yes Mrs. Manieri. He's the head coach, thus he gets the blame for LSU putting a dog-shite product on the field.

Paul is the reason those players were recruited. These players outside of 4 (crews, Morgan, Dugas, Doughty) aren't capable of playing in the SEC. Cain's classes in 2017, 2018, and 2019 were awful failures. Cain recruits because Paul Manieri won't get off his arse to do it.

Why are their recruiting classes ranked so high yet the production isn't anywhere close?
Only a fool relies on "class ranks." These are proved wrong in every sport, year after year.
Why do so few players progress the longer they're in the program?
They aren't that good, apparently.
Why do so many of the freshmen who play well regress/plateau?
Injuries
Why do so many pitchers have issues with walks?
They aren't accurate.
Why are clearly subpar players starting over clearly superior players?
Coach probably knows stuff you don't.
Why is the defense bad across the board?
They are overrated defensive players.
