So ... we don't want to face a team that could possibly beat us? Maybe we should lobby to play North Texas St. in the New Mexico Bowl. Play a shitty team in a shitty bowl game just so we can say, We kicked their arse.

Quit being a bunch of gashes. Arkansas beat the faggies in Dallas by a TD while playing like complete dog-shite before we discovered that we had a running game. You guys should beat them unless you forget how to play football.

#1- it's the cotton bowl; dallas sucks as a bowl destination

The Jerry Dome is a world class facility and beats the hell out of alternative Cap One Citrus bowl.

our opponent has sucked for 10 years and is a very good team this year; beating us will put them on the national map

How long has it been since Michigan State mattered?

#3-i question if this is a good bowl for our players;

This is a top tier bowl played in prime time and will be the only game on that day.

i can assure you, a&m will be as fired up as arkansas and they have a damn good defense

OK are you looking for an unmotivated mediocore opponent we can beat by 40?

Really...sounds like a lot of folks are scared of the Aggies...to hell with that, bring 'em on!!! Perfect destination now that Dallas has Jerry's world...

Man you are wrong. This Cotton Bowl stadium may be the best Football stadium in the nation located in one of the largest Cities in the Nation.

Dallas v. Mickey Mouse. Six to eight hours versus 16-18 hour drive. I have been to both when both stadiums sucked, now the Cotton is King.

Don't you know that the Cap One Bowl committee put bad turf on the field last year to take away our speed advantage over Penn State. (For those who do not know- this last statement was written in jest).

How someone can say that a game in the nicest, most state of the art stadium in the world, that's in the 9th largest city in the United States sucks as a bowl destination is beyond me.

Les has lobbied to play in the Cotton Bowl in the past...2005, but went to Peach instead.

Regardless of what you think of the bowl game itself, this is a huge opportunity for RECRUITING in a fertile Dallas metropolis.

Same thing if we go to cap 1 and play Mich. St. They have sucked the past 10 years too

Michigan State is ranked 8th. aTm is ranked 18th. LSU is ranked 10th. Tell me again how its better for LSU to play the 18th ranked team. Its a lose/lose situation. How can LSU improve its ranking playing a team ranked 8 spots lower?

BC at this point the ranking of our opponent is meaningless if their both in the top 25. With that being said, LSU playing in Texas and that helps with recruiting, they will be playing in the nicest stadium in the world versus the crap arse citrus bowl stadium. And the number one reason is the fact that the cotton bowl is primetime on a friday night and will have way more people watching than the capitol one will at 1pm on new years day with several other bowls on at the same time.

That is not true. If LSU plays and beat number 8 Michigan State, LSU ends the season ranked top 7 or better because at least two other top 10 teams other than MSU will lose. It really wouldn't matter how close the game because LSU beats a higher ranked top 10 team. If LSU gets beat by the higher ranked MSU, they only fall a spot or two if at all unless dominated by MSU.

Now on the other hand if LSU beats aTm, they probably remain at 10 unless a team above them gets dominated because the teams ranked higher will play higher ranked teams. If they struggle to beat aTm, they could drop a spot or two. And if LSU loses to aTm, LSU probably switches places with aTm and end the season around 18th.

Everything in aTm versus LSU matchup favors aTm. The only positive LSU can get is by totally dominating and totally destroying aTm.

If you don't like the Cotton and don't want to play the Ags, then stay home, rent a movie, have some fruit.

It's a done deal and will be one hell of a game.

It's a great matchup and a great site. If grandpa can't see this he needs new glasses.

AGAIN LSU has NOTHING to gain by playing a lower ranked school PLUS the $$$ 1.6 Million would be lost. I HATE THIS CRAP!
