Our O-line play was terrible this year. I think they all got worse from 2019 (give Joe Burrow that O-line award btw).

Worse yet, james cregg can't recruit worth a sh*t! We have missed on so many big O-line recruits since he has been the coach (brockermeyer, byrd, leigh just in this class).

Get his arse out of here!

Because Coach O makes that decision, not the board. Maybe Coach O, along with Cregg, have been worked hard to get Chase, Big Ed and Liam to come back. Maybe Coach O along with Cregg are working to get Dare and Austin to come back. Maybe the 2 OL recruits LSU did get, well 1 signed, one a firm commitment, were Cregg.

Even if the two recruits they got were because of Cregg it’s simply not enough. If you use that excuse every year you will never get rid of him.

yeah tell those 3 starting ol to give their game checks to burrow because since apparently they are fricking trash and cregg had nothing to do them getting to the league huh...ceh never had any holes opened up by them burrow was just so damn quick he could pitch hand it off then run and block and open up holes huh...fricking idiots on this damn board...go back to playing dynasty mode on ncaa...you're probably the one who creates players then quits the game when they commit elsewhere

I think the key to getting our NFL eligible OL back to school would be to keep their coach on staff.

I also think that LSU has a big OL class coming in 2022 and keeping Cregg could be key for that class.

So if the OL returns will they be any better under Cregg? i mean almost all played the year before at some point. Did they improve this year? NO. I mean i hope for improvement but just not sure Cregg is the guy to do it.

Well as I have said a million times, there are not enough 4-star or better OL in LA HS ball. Go to the 247 composite and count all the 4 star or better guys this year. 57 total, for OT, OG, and C. That is it. None in LA. Last year 1, the center from New Orleans-Warren Easton who UGA signed and a total of 50 4-star or better for OT, OG, and OC. So in the last 2 recruiting cycles LA produced 1 4 star talent.

Wisconsin for example had 2 4-star OT in 2020, they both signed with Wisconsin the home state team. GA had 2 4 star or better that signed with UGA.

In 2019 there were 60 total 4 star or better, 2 in LA, Parker from Ruston and Thomas from Baton Rouge. LSU signed both.

So in the last 3 recruiting cycles, 167 total 4 star or better 247 composite OL in the entire USA, LA has produced 3, LSU signed 2 of them and lost 1 to UGA. Parker has off field issues, and is gone, Thomas has had injury problems and has not developed.

So when you go out of state to try to get 4-star talent, you are battling the in-state schools and if the kid is wanting to go out of state, well you are battling every other big time school that is recruiting them.

Just are not enough big people in LA HS ball that play OL year in and year out. Next year, definitely 2 upper tier SEC type players, Jones from Catholic HS-BR and Campbell from Neville HS-Monroe. Need to sign both of them. Hopefully the Bordelon kid from ED-White Catholic in Thibodaux will grow and develop into a SEC caliber player and LSU can sign 3 SEC quality OL recruits from in-state.

The No. 5 OT in the country for 2022 is from LA, is committed to LSU, and the lead recruiter is Cregg.

4 Star OG out of Mobile is committed to LSU, top recruiter is Cregg.

ETA: Kinda sounds like OP is just some silly star gazer that’s throwing fits because he didn’t get ALL the recruits he wanted. Grow up @ lsukingcfb1

Call him up (you’d probably want to text him) and tell him he’s fired.

No you missed the entire point of my post. I am defending Cregg and no I am not a star gazer. Go look at all the threads about signing 4 star OL. My point is to document there ain't a whole hell of a lot of them across the entire USA and LA does not produce them.

You perhaps have reading comprehension problems. Read my entire post and then read it in context of the OP post. I am defending Cregg.

No problem, I respect you for clarifying your post.

Using old school basketball language (Bird, Magic, Jordan era), no harm no foul.

Really, did not know that, was that mid-term this year. So he will get to block for Arch Manning and show off his ability to block Pass Pro, etc.

Just looking at his frame, 6-5 250 lbs range, if he can do through S&C in spring, normal spring practice, and then come into LSU camp at maybe 265-270 and compete against elite DL prospects, then develop and play well against good competition next fall, he might be one we should watch out for.

Like I said, having definitely 2 SEC caliber OL recruits with Jones and Campbell and a potential 3rd one in-state makes OL recruiting a lot easier. LSU has a good looking OL prospect from Mobile St. Paul Episcopal committed, lets hold him and sign him, so could be a really good 2022 OL recruiting class.

I keep reading that the 2022 OL class is going to be a great one. Is that correct? LSU is off to a good start with 2 top OL commits.

If Cregg can get this year’s OL to return, it looks like we will be fine with depth. If he can get them to improve, I see this as an elite unit next year.

Piss off. Only so many 5 stars and we are selling the same thing everyone else is.

Not nearly as bad as you fools make it out to be.

I think 1 OL recruit, from Mobile, #11 OG, high 3-star with 0.89 ranking, Number 314 National so just out the ESPN top 300. So good recruit. LSU has a commit from a DL from New Orleans. So only 1 OL committed for 2022 as of now.

the game i watched on espn, he was playing DL, surely he can be moved to OL in college if needed i would guess depending on his size. now, did he play OL this past year for newman, i have no idea.
