After all the negativity from a lot of the post that I have read it sounds as if we just need to get rid of the program. I think some forget about the young men that's working their tails off do deserve to read all of the crap about the coaches that they are going to play for at this time. I remember when Nick was the coach and some said he didn't deserve the pay he wanted so he could stay at LSU. Look at him now!

I agree, fans should root for their teams to suck instead of compete for championships.

I assume that's what Joe Alleva told himself before hiring Ed Orgeron to be the head coach.

I understand that you probably don't understand what negativity does for a team! After 23 yrs and 5 combat zones I personally seen what it does to team even though you are giving it all so that they can say these things. One day, just one day you may get a opportunity to understand it. Take out a little time to put yourself in their shoes!

Thank you for your service but comparing war to college athletics is a bit ridiculous especially since college athletics exists specifically to entertain the students and fans.

But if you want to use a military analogy I’ll be happy to

If you have a commanding officer that you like but at the end of the day you know he’s not the best guy that you can have to get the best out of you and your unit wouldn’t you want him replaced?

I don't know what it is about some of the servicemen on this board, but you guys seem more eager than most to support mediocrity.

Hate this analogy but I’ll play:

No one is bitching at our players, just our coaches.

In your combat zone terrible leadership at a political level would deserve to be called out by citizens to protect our troops (players). If you were left out to dry time and time again people back home will demand better for you. That’s what our administration has done to current LSU players. Less talented “reinforcements” and less capable leadership at the top because they settled while the competition spared no expense

Our guys aren’t being set up for success like guys at Bama and UGA are right now. Why not, because we have the resources. We want them to succeed, and will do what we can to make it so.

They will fight for each other regardless, like you and your guys did. But we can put them in a better spot to succeed, like you and your guys probably were.

The analogy was for teamwork from all to make the team a success. Yes you are right about the commanding officer and I would support him for the benefit of the team on the outside but I also would not publicize our differences for the benefit of our team until changes have been made.

I agree with a lot of what you're saying. I had an opportunity to speak with a young man who was recruited by LSU but chose to go to bama and he said that our rant was what his recruiter showed him to help flip him and my mouth just dropped!! Even though that wasn't the only reason but he said it definitely played a part.

You're right, dude. LSU made a big mistake when they fired Nick Saban.

I follow your argument but here’s the problem: we’re not part of the team or in your analogy the military unit.

We’re the citizens that the military is trying to convince to buy war bonds to support the effort. Well if there’s a buffoon leading the army, you’re not selling war bonds. And I’m calling my congressman to put pressure on The top brass to replace the guy before we lose the war. Because I care too much about my country. If some of the soldiers hear the complaints and can’t drown it out it’s even more reflective of a lack of leadership in their unit.

Find me a fanbase that cares about college football, and I’ll find you a message board that looks like this if they aren’t good at college football.

We are good - just not the best lately - winning it all is everything to many here - all teams other than the champ are losers!

I only wish that it worked that way, however when you're trying to bring kids back to their families alive that's not an option. Geaux Tigers
